  1. your disdain for the SEC is hilarious. Most SEC fans could care less about your conference. They could, huh?
  2. He, Justin Upton, and Miguel Cabrera are my favorite non Cubs. Thank god, I thought I was the only one here that liked Miggy.
  3. I love Jason Whitlock, he's essentially a professional troll, but he's a smart guy that writes just enough "you know what, he's right" stuff to stay relevant. He's like that guy from cbcsports.com, but Whitlock trolls both races effectively, while the CBS guy just trolls white people.
  4. and i kicked frank mitchell's ass, why do you think he blocked me from further tweets!
  5. you're not fooling anyone. you don't have a tv because A.) you can't afford a cable bill and B.) you'd lose one of the two things in your life that you're convinced makes you interesting.
  6. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it bullcrap. No, the fact that it sucks, does. The opinion of the Oklahoman NBA fan has been given its due notice. Maybe if the Barmy Army incorporated some rap music into its chants? let's be clear here, the opinion of an oklahoma nba fan definitely holds precedence over a north dakota cricket fan who doesnt own a tv.
  7. OH HO, GOOD ONE

  9. Here's the comparison I like to make: 1) Baseball fans get excited when a guy hits the other way, slightly altering his swing. A cricket batsmen has a dozen or more wildly different shots (swings) available to him, which he often has to choose from in the same split-second a baseball batsman has. 2) George Will wrote one-fourth of a great baseball book on the brilliancy of shifting a shortstop one or two steps in either direction, and that's about the extent of defensive strategy. In cricket, there is an almost unlimited number of fielding options, all with unique strategic implications. It's sort of like the baseball that non-stathead baseball fans like to imagine exists but doesn't. I have this dream where you never post here again because you're so in love with stupid bullcrap like cricket
  10. $5 million well spent. I wish I could be that crappy at my job and make 1/100th of what Miles does. you can be crappy at a job and easily make $25,000 in a year Your math is off. he's making $2,500,000 this year, right?

  12. Not even close. There are maybe 3 teams with that kind of fliff like that, and that's not enough to push a bidding war up to 40 million. As far as I can tell, no one bid on A-Rod, he's older than Albert is, and he got 30 million. his contract averages to 27.5 million, which is less than 70 percent of this crazy 40 million dollar idea. He wouldn't get 40 million.
  13. ESPN was showing highlights of his minor league games on sportscenter, and showing off his HR's he ws hitting in the minors too. Yeah, man that hurts to think about. We were watching Sportscenter at this party we were at, and they started showing Prior highlights. We made everyone shut up, and my buddy was so excited about Prior, that when they showed his face, he exclaimed "MAN, HE'S NOT TOO BAD LOOKING EITHER." Mark Prior was really ugly, but we were willing to look past that.
  14. the article says that his teammates restrained him, and that's what it looked like at first, but as they were leaving, a couple brewers players were cussing at the security guys. this team is falling apart, it's beautiful.
  15. God, yes. He could literally be our new (and improved!) Mark DeRosa, in that he can spell all corner IF and corner OF positions and be our backup catcher. How many ABs does a backup catcher get in a year? I've got to think that 150 at bats of Fox over Koyie Hill would be worth a ton. If it was a role he would embrace, he could gobble up a lot of at bats.
  16. God, now I'm just reminded of how Prior's minor league and then major league dominance saved 2002. Sure, we sucked, but it was something to look forward to every 5 days. UGH.
  17. Here's a fun Mets stat I just realized Mark Reynolds hit 4 HRs in 3 games there last week; or, as many as David Wright has hit there all season.
  18. Not even close. There are maybe 3 teams with that kind of fliff like that, and that's not enough to push a bidding war up to 40 million.
  19. look just tell me how many wins gregg has. that's the point, TO WIN.
  20. stupid typo's. :? There's no apostrophe in typos, journalist. Anyway0, cubsgm has to be our most dedicated troll, even surpassing voice of reason levels.
  21. the crowd chants "let's go cubbies" Dusty flashes back and shudders reds players plan on leaving the organization as soon as possibly marty brenneman adjusts his goggles and takes a seat in the tanning salon
  22. LOL thanks for the run, dusty. you moron.
  23. Taveras slugging is the same as Wells' ERA.
  24. lol yer an oriole
  25. He never used to be, though. I always wanted the Cubs to trade for him at the deadline. He was one of my favorite non-Cub pitchers for a while. He was great until Dusty starting forcing him to throw 120+ pitches every start. With a lot of pitchers, injuries happen and it's hard to point to an exact "Aha!" point where it all went wrong. But not with Harang. He pitched a regularly scheduled start, came out of the bullpen and threw 4 (I think) innings a couple days later and then made his regularly scheduled start a couple of days later. His ERA before that relief appearance was sub 4.00 and going south every season. After that relief appearance, well, you get the Harang that you have now.
