    same here. Maybe part of it was just the back-to-back wins, but seeing it in HD just made me feel at peace with the cubs a little bit. like if they're going to suck, i'm not watching it in SD. But i can watch them suck in beautiful HD.

    Cycling is quite exciting, actually, and has an almost religious following around here. Not many annual events can turn out between half a million and a million people on the streets like the Ronde van Vlaanderen. i'll never understand those third world countries

    no But essentially what is the difference? Leaving early was seen as "giving up on your team", even though it was the last day of the season and the Cubs were mathematically eliminated. Sammy was still a superstar player, and he was crucified for it. Hanley almost walking after that ball is giving up on the play, therefore hurting your team in a game that matters. Yet he shouldn't face the same criticism? How is his offense any better than Sammy's? the people who were mad at sammy were idiots. put 2 and 2 together here
