  1. would you rather take the field with 11 michigan defenders or 10 alabama defenders?
  2. do we have one of these already? i dont think so anyway, let's here them AL MVP — Hamilton NL MVP — Votto AL Cy Young — King Felix NL Cy Young — Halladay AL ROY — Pass NL ROY — Heyward
  3. he does, but he thinks that's actually how the words are spelled
  4. He's regressed in what way? in playing basketball. he barely penetrates at all any more, and when he does he gets out of control. i think this team is killing his progression right now or something. he hasn't looked right, even though he put up great numbers last game. Rose barely penetrates? Who you crappin'? Rose has put up great numbers all year and is having the best start to his season yet. He looks better with every game but obviously needs defensive game management progress. Have you watched all the games? Rose in the first 2 games of the season was singificantly different than the Rose in the last 3 games. He was penetrating at will in the first 2 games. He's still trying to, but he's doing it less and he's having way less success. The last 3 games when he tries to penetrate he gets out of control and either forces up a wild shot or tries to bail out with a pass. he just needs to make adjustments, it happens to all young players that rely more on strength/speed/athleticism at first. The good news is that he's intelligent enough as a person to make this change
  5. you know what i meant!
  6. yes sir, it was hilarious. i've never seen someone so reluctant to do anything basketball related. he's like the goofy fat kid on the playground when you're 10 that gets the ball, dribbles, pump fakes, takes 12 steps and then passes. it was amazing.
  7. he's done it every game and every time he does it thother team goes on a big run I'm sure if will work some day...... it will be one of those dusty-neifi things where dusty would leave him in the lineup for 3 weeks and he would blow ass, then he would inexplicably get a game-winning hit or whatever and dusty would be in the postgame like i already mentioned during a previous game that scalabrine is already thibs' new neifi. it sucks. scalabrine is just so visually unappealing that if after like a month or whatever you looked at his stats and he had PER of 16 or whatever, john hollinger would finally redo that stat

  9. Hey SSR, did you flip out pretty much every single time Scalabrine got burn for the C's over the last 4-5 years even when half the time he didn't even really do anything bad? My theory is that he just looks so incredibly unfit to play basketball let alone any sort of athletic competition that he always looks like he's messing something up with his awkward looking out of shape ginger body. Edit: by no means do I think he should be playing the minutes tubadough (ok I've been saving that one for the first time he pissed me off) has been playing him, but half the time on RealGM (myself included) i've seen posters yelling at him for playing like 3 consecutive minutes of a game. last year in okc, i went to the boston game with 5 friends and every time he had the ball, we would yell SHOOT IT as loud as we could (we were cool drunk) Anyway, all he would do is set a pick and then run and hide in the corner baseline. Every time. Why anyone even guarded him I have no idea. So in the 4th quarter, with boston ahead by about 30 or whatever, he sets a screen and runs to the corner. Only whoever the hell was rondo's backup got picked up, and with 2 seconds left on the clock, kicked it to a wide open scalabrine. By this time, our entire section was yelling SHOOT IT at him every time he touched the ball. But his time he actually had to shoot it, since time was expiring. We all yelled SHOOT IT, he shot it and ... hit the side of the backboard for a 24-second violation. I don't think I've ever seen home fans laugh that loudly during a blowout loss.
  10. Hahahaha im still laughing
  11. itt: spongeworthy earns my grudging respect
  12. i saw a youtube link down there but didn't click on it cause im at work. im assuming it's him punking calderon or frigging jerryd bayless. i dont think i've hated an NBAer more than garnett since maybe reggie miller
  13. did madow hit this dude or something? he seems like a really unlikely candidate to run out of money
  14. by the way, charlie v is a [expletive]. garnett's comment was ultimately harmless since it was on a basketball court between basketball players that don't have cancer. i'm pretty sure nobody with cancer heard him say it, so who cares? classless blah blah yea ok whatever, but it didn't hurt anything. now i'm sure there are a number of kids with cancer who are big KG fans, and now they have to hear that he made fun of cancer patients. why? because charlie v thought it was necessary to post in-game trash talk on his stupid ass twitter. i pretty much agree. i mean, i hate KG cause he's a [expletive] jackass, but it's trash talk, come on. he was trying to get into villanueva's head, and he chose an easy way, something villanueva has been made fun of a lot for in his life and is clearly a little sensitive about. he basically snitched out KG for calling him names. Pretty weak.
  15. It's funny to think that Jermaine O'Neal and Kobe Bryant came straight out of high school the same year. it makes shaq's career seem more amazing to me. those big fat asses age like twice as fast.
  16. you probably woulda got laid a lot
  17. it's just some kevin love halloweener. but at first i was like "jesus christ he's so fat, i thought he lost a lot of weight"
  18. http://www.savethegophers.com/sa/var/resizes/love.gif lol
  19. dont be so hasty, give him a year or two to get his feet under him. if texas' offense isn't better by 2015, then it's time to make a move
  20. that practice footage really would have come in handy
  21. lololololol, notre dame lost at home to tulsa, who has like 700 students. forget the big 10, they should join the MEAC
  22. i dont know, kill an innocent student assistant?
  23. That's because Shaq only played 65-70 games each year while Durant played 82. It's a bad way of looking at it. Durant average 10.2 free throw attempts per game last year. Shaq had nine seasons where he averaged at least 10.2 free throws per game. Shaq averaged 10.5 free throws per game over his first 13 seasons. Ok. Between Kobe, Iverson, Lebron, and Wade they have never had a season where they took more free throw attempts than Durant did last year. That's 40+ seasons of NBA experience. Kobe had 1 year where he averaged 10.2 FTA a game and that was in 05-06 when he jacked up 27 field goal attempts per game (as opposed to Durant's 20.3 FGA per game last season). Iverson had a couple years where he was higher than 10.2 FTA a game but he was also playing upwards of 43 minutes a game (Durant was at 39.5) and he was jacking up 25 shots a game. MJ had 2 years in the 80s when he averaged more than 10.2 a game but he took wayyyy fewer threes (less than 1 per game), jacked up way more shots, and in an era when the pace and # of possessions were a lot higher. Now I'm looking at Lebron's #s and they are actually similar to Durant's in terms of field goal attempts, free throw attempts, and minutes. It's safe to say that Lebron and Durant are being officiated differently, justly or not, than basically any perimeter players to have ever played the game. And anecdotally, I can't believe that Durant's style of play is more conducive to drawing contact than a young MJ at his athletic and ball hogging apex, a young AI, or Lebron (althoug Bron does take a crap load of 3s). apparently you haven't watched many okc games. it's not like durant is getting fouled on jumpshots.
  24. While I was doing some intense research, I learned that Charlie villanueva shot a grand total of 130 free throws in 1848 minutes last year.
  25. shaq should have shot 20 free throws a game. the fact that he was unjustly officiated has nothing to do with durant.
