    NFL Offseason

    SHUT UP ABOUT THE JETS
  3. im less concerned with how much control jordan had over the doc (because duh) and more surprised at how closely it follows "Playing For Keeps." It's essentially shot-for-shot!
  4. https://twitter.com/willcolon66/status/1253849227509325824/photo/1 good to see you on goodell's zoom tonight
  5. i've noticed that happen to me before if im browsing on a computer that's not logged into a twitter account
  6. I went on a Jordan kick a couple years ago and got both Playing for Keeps and The Life. Both great books. I haven't read Jordan Rules in forever but will probably get back to it at some point. I haven't read any of them in quite a while. It's really interesting to read them in the current player empowerment era. There's so many times, at least once or twice per chapter, where you're just like what the horsefeathers
  7. I'm reading Playing For Keeps again too. I like it better than Jordan Rules.
  8. Honestly, the dynasty was probably close to being done anyway. Like was said, that Pacers series was brutal. The Jazz were right there most of the games and were kind of a tough matchup. That being said, I would have loved to seen them let Phil go and let the rest of the team make a run just to see how it ended. Scottie's contract made that tough, but if Jordan was there I think he would have been. The strike shortened season is whatever. The Knicks team that won the East as an 8 seed was the same the Bulls used to beat up on. Them against the twin towers of the Spurs would have been interesting. But I would love to have seen the Bulls, slightly retooled with role players vs. Phil Jackson and the 99-00 Lakers. Jordan and Pippen in the twilight against a prime Shaq and young Kobe, with Phil as the coach. If not for Jordan getting his dad killed and Krause's ego, the Bulls could have legitimately threatened the Celtics 11 rings in 13 years with 11 straight. Watching Pippen and Jordan age would have been one thing. Watching an aging MJ with a young McGrady would have been pretty interesting as well though. But Phil would have probably bailed and if MJ was serious about not playing for anyone, but Phil, that wasn't gonna happen either. So the hypothetical becomes if you would possibly trade the 6th championship for building around McGrady in 97/98 if that trade happens. the answer to this is not yes
  9. that's what i was thinking last night. It's just unfathomable how this went down. If horsefeathering fat horsefeathers jerry krause is saying hey guys this winning championships thing is great but what about drafting eddy curry instead, don't you just say get the horsefeathers out of here, idiot. I mean you already have michael and scottie, someone else can't sign bill wennington and steve kerr? Well Krause did go get Scottie too. And Grant during the first 3 peat. Not sure everyone appreciated a sharpshooting specialist like Kerr as much as he would obviously be highly valued today. Krause had his share of clunkers, but he did do a nice job building around Michael. I don't know if he was necessarily wrong to want to want to get out of the downside of an aging Pippen. The Jackson tension was a little different obviously and more egregiously his ego getting in the way it seems. If he threads the needle though, MJ could have carried a good team into his late 30s while you rebuilt around him on the fly. As it was he basically lost that battle in 97 and JR forced all the chips go in for 98, then Krause just got to do his rebuild with whatever he could get out of Kukoc, Kerr, Longley, etc and the rest walking. But there were a lot of other forces aiming towards that breakup, Krause just wanted to light a match on that kindling asap. the minute your horsefeathers GM says hey lets do this move that alienates the best player of all time and makes him retire you fire him on the spot.

  11. god it was so horsefeathering good i could barely stand it
  12. you haven't seen half the horsefeathers out there on the dark web
  13. david can you report back what the game was like?
  14. Two others things he used to do that drove me crazy... He overreacted to every bunt. “So and so will be called on to move the runner over. He lays down the bunt AND IT’S A BEAUTY!!!!” Every time someone bunted in fair territory he’d excitedly scream, “it’s a beauty.” May have been real hard back to the pitcher who is starting to turn a double play, but Chip would have already exclaimed how great it was. He also would say “could” when it should have been “would.” Bases loaded, two outs, bottom of the ninth, tie game, and he’d say, “a base hit here could give the Cubs the win.” No, a base hit would give the Cubs the win. Bases loaded: “a walk could bring in a run.” Did that a lot. man this reminded me of how much i hate that coomer refers to hard hit balls as being "crunched" who the horsefeathers says that i horsefeathering love coomer lol
  15. i thought it was US or argentina? anyway, surely they dont let him get away https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4067394/dortmunds-giovanni-reyna-to-opt-for-united-states-over-england-argentina lets goooo

  17. i would have cut my wrist on fb live
  18. oh my god goony this movie has been inside my head all week for absolutely no reason. How did we have this moment of synchronicity
  19. Bayern are insane. Every chance they create is somehow a good one. Obviously chelsea's piss poor back four helps with that but they didn't create a shot all game that wasn't a good one
  20. Also, when Pulisic was bought by Chelsea last year, I decided that I would try and follow european soccer this year and holy horsefeathers have I gone down the rabbit hole. I'm leaving work early to watch champions league games, I'm plotting out results to see how likely chelsea is to stay top 4, im reading the musings of incredibly sad people on reddit. Top stuff (im saying top stuff now)
  21. i thought it was US or argentina? anyway, surely they dont let him get away
  22. 1 cup if he's lucky with 2 girls
  23. i cant imagine a 17 yo american legacy committing to england with their depth when he could theoretically star in 4 cups for the US
  24. I imagine the counter argument is at least that’s action on the field as opposed to pitching changes and mound visits
  25. i feel like the real struggle the xfl is gonna face is that the NFL is a 12-month league because of free agency and the draft and there is literally not going to be any interest in the xfl in that aspect.
