  1. If they’re gonna do 2 wing backs it’s gonna be rough stuff getting Pulisic on the pitch. Especially if they’re gonna do Werner central like today
  2. Really eager to see Tuchel's lineup against Spurs. First real team Chelsea have matched up with since his arrival, probably the first actual glance at what he actually thinks of pulisic
  3. on the other hand, horsefeathers arsenal

  5. doesnt tuchel like pulisic? the biggest worry for him right now is Odoi is in form (though tuchel played him at WB so who knows how he fits the puzzle together)
  6. The Athletic's longform does touch on a couple things that are probably bigger than Lampard or the manager role, I was struck by the bit about refusing to entertain signing Declan Rice because of the optics of signing a former released academy kid. But yeah, Lampard had questionable credentials heading in, and while last year and playing the young kids are to his credit, there was little to think that he was moving in the right direction even after huge investment, and last year isn't such a big feather in his cap that you could be optimistic that things were gonna get better. that's what gets me. so much of the reaction "we'd sack klopp if we could! look what he did with liverpool given time!" But liverpool were clearly trending upward toward bigger things, nevermind Klopp's resume compared to Frank's, which ... well he doesn't have one.
  7. I suppose it's to be expected dealing with english fans lamenting the firing of a club legend but good god, you'd think they'd just sacked god himself. it's the media's fault it's covid's fault too many injuries another casualty of the revolving door at chelsea what in the world had frank done to show he was a capable manager? narrowly got 4th in a year when every team aside from liverpool sucked? Convinced players he had no idea how to manage that they should sign for chelsea?
  8. At first glance I was going to disagree with you about Pulisic but really I think you're right. He was their only consistent attacker early last season, got moved out of the XI because he didn't have any goals to his name, then came back and played essentially exactly the same except with better finishing and Lamps got a lot of credit for that. Now this year Pulisic is back to attack and creating and not finishing yet he's still in the squad because Willian has moved on. I was wary of Lampard because obviously what are the odds that a team legend also just happens to be the coach to lead you back to glory but also his insistence on the 4-3-3 this year just made it clear he was either stubborn to his own team's detriment or just not that bright of a mind altogether. If you're gonna bring in all these bundesliga attackers you might as well have a german mind figuring out how to get he most out of them. looking forward to wednesday now
  9. yeah i mean if you say well the cubs passed on harper because they thought acuna was a better investment, sure. but they passed on harper and their big signings since then are descalso and austin romine and it looks like it will be multiple offseasons before we are FA players again. so i'd prefer the universe where we signed harper.
  10. We started deplatforming by banning bum and meph
  11. Lamps gonna get the sack at halftime
  12. horsefeathering [expletive] that this thread title isn't "they picked Boog"
  13. croenworth is 26 and would be in his 30s by the time the cubs are good again. also he probably sucks. As does Nico.
  14. so we're not even saving money lol? i'd rather darvish got to pitch for a winner and i wasn't planning on watching any of this horsefeathers anyway. The rebuild is gonna give me a nice little rest period where i can just keep tabs on the minors guys off and on and ignore the team in general and then jump back in if we ever plan on winning more than 80 games again.
  15. We barely knew thee, Ian Happ! horsefeathers yeah happ
  16. Glad to hear Fuld was a nice dude. On a tangent, who was the craven autograph hound here back in the day? Was that you? Vance? oh that was def vance
  17. yea, I guess I meant just more on buzz. Good to have both. CP has been good but Chelsea not scoring much. Reyna has been Dortmund's offense since Haaland got hurt. pulisic just got back into the team after like two months off for (yet another) hamstring tweak.
  18. gio reyna is the horsefeathering CHOSEN ONE

  20. Len is a lounge guy
  21. To be honest, I have barely watched the cubs the last couple years because the on-field stuff is just such an unenjoyable experience. Even though Len and JD were so great together I really found myself absentmindedly listening to the radio broadcast most times. (call me crazy but i really like pat and ron) I didn't plan on watching much this upcoming season anyway but this really sealed it. I think the biggest cause of sadness for me is just that len is so synonymous with all the fun cubs times of everything post-2003.
  22. I’m not watching this horsefeathers for a long time
  23. damn, schwarbs doesn't even get his own thread
  24. it's no surprise but farns is a covid-truther
