i knew it was gonna be ugly so i took my ipad to the gym and watched it on the elliptical so at least it wasn't a total waste of time

basketball players are legit too good now, that's just the truth. the players got so good they broke the game. you have guys now that can reliably shoot from 35 feet out. what are you supposed to do about that? If you defend them that far out they just blow past you. It's hopeless. Every player that's any good now has a step back where they can cross their defender up and then in one step be 8 feet away shooting an open three. and if you happen to stick with them all they need is two inches of separation to get the shot off anyway. it used to be ok because shooters were mostly unathletic and if you had one who could actually dribble you could just overplay them into your 7-2 300 pound white center. but now every center is like 6-8 210 so these damien lillard dudes are just unstoppable. i dont know the solution.

then today SKC takes a 3-2 lead on a Busio goal in like the 93rd minute. the celebration adds two minutes to stoppage time so instead of ending after 94 it keeps going. SJ has the ball and the ref does that thing where he's like im not blowing the whistle until your attack stops. So SJ kinda plods up the field an then Wondo heads in the equalizer at the last possible instant. the teams eventually go to PKs and Melia, who I guess has never lost a shootout and has mutliple stops in like all 6 shootouts he's been in, stops all three SJ shots he sees and SKC wins

i still dont know what to think about chelsea. they look completely different defending set pieces and just in general. People give a lot of credit to mendy and silva but both chelsea's wingbacks are new too (kinda.) Chilwell is good but reece james has been really impressive and he has so much size over Azpi that I think it has made a big difference. there's gonna be interesting questions for the offense whenever pulisic is fit because with him out, they've gone to werner on the LW with abraham in the middle and those two have a ton of chemistry together. And havertz when he's healthy was really playing well with abraham too.

Now they're postponing or moving the game. My fantasy world is upside down this week (Henry and Mahomes as basically my top 2 players) Yeah, I'm the commissioner of our money fantasy league, and I'm having to text everyone each time there is a change. Ugh. I did create an extra IR spot so that Covid players can be placed there if their teams play anyway. We also changed our entry fee to only $50 instead of $150 knowing this season would have issues. Seems like they need to quarantine these teams if there is an chance of having a full season. It only takes one idiot. Luckily there are bye weeks now. Not sure what they will do once a team gets covid and their bye week has already been used. how's abuck's team doing

desperately need to get mount off the wing and have havertz either at striker or in RLC's spot. He's done nothing since he came back last season. Less than nothing.

excited to see what chelsea is up to, even though a lot of the new guys are out or likely not playing much today. I think they're going to get off to a slower than expected start - kepa/wily still in goal, the defense is still not good, and chilwell, who i dont think is much of a defender anyway, is still out. Havertz likely wont play much and Ziyech is out. Reddit page will be fun if they draw or lose to Brighton.
