    yeah that special needs guy was badass, he was fun as hell to work with. He would cuss out the managers in the middle of the store and stuff and everyone just laughed it off. But yeah, he sucked at his job.

    I dont think i've ever seen someone be as bad at his job as joe carter. im talking anything. I worked at walmart for a year in high school and there was a special needs guy who worked there that made himself a driver's license on a piece of cardboard who grabbed a pallet stacked 6-feet high with gallons and milk and spilled that [expletive] all over the floor. Covered like 1/4th of the store in milk. And Joe carter was worse than that guy.

    Boy I could not disagree more. Ron is awful at PBP but he's fine as a color guy. Not only was Moreland a terrible clichebot as a color man, he inexplicably could not develop any cadence at all with Pat and dragged him down. I love Pat and Ron. I dunno, I dig Coomer.

    To me, there is no reason to do that. I'd rather they make him a qualifying offer, which would be pretty expensive at about 14.2 million, but it would be for one season only. And if another team signs him, take the first round pick and move on. thats cool too, im not real up to date on his contract other than it being up this year. I'm just saying there's no reason to fret about him for the next few years. He's 29 and is good at baseball. He's a really safe bet to be good into his early 30s.

    there's another message board I mostly just lurk, but I posted following the draft because the mass board consensus was that the cubs fucked up and had a terrible draft. people are so [glow=red]butthurt[/glow] to this day that if i post in a thread, at least three people will bring that up - "says the guy who thinks the cubs had a good draft!"

    I just can't get comfortable with the catching thing. Doesn't it seem more likely that it will be easier to teach him to play LF than to teach him to catch? Why let what could theoretically be an elite bat deteriorate behind the plate. There's like 2 dudes in MLB who catch fulltime and are good hitters, just go with the scrapheap and left schwarber mash dongs for the next 10 years.
