  1. Meh. He'll never be even 3/4 the defensive player Toews is. Kane is proving superior offensively, but when factoring in the faceoffs and defensive side, Kane would have to destroy everything in his path to have more value than Toews. Great discussion to be able to have, though!
  2. Yes. Several hundred thousand dollars were donated to the JRW program. I'm pretty damn sure it's not going to all be spent on new batting cages and uniforms.
  3. Great lazy Sunday Never gets old beating the Blues. They are very unlikable.
  4. Fowler noticeably improved (IMO) over the course of the season doing play by play and was pretty darn good in the title game. He's no Musburger but he's quite good. Rece Davis has been presiding over ESPN's Holtz and May pony show the last decade, dealing with Corso is going to be a freaking picnic by comparison. Fair on Fowler as a PBP person. And Davis will be fine as host, but Fowler is the GOAT at hosting a show like that, so anyone would have been a step down.
  5. Rece Davis taking over for Fowler on Gameday. He's fine, but everyone is losing in all of this. Fowler << Musberger in PBP and Fowler>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anyone else ever in pre-game/Gameday stuff.
  6. Blackout/Streaming Update. This could be HUGE. http://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2015/02/06/fox-and-mlb-in-talks-that-could-have-nearly-40-of-streamed-game-broadcasts-blackout-free/
  7. Wasn't it the 2004 Cubs were hated discussion? Which is defensible. Or in that discussion did someone go full hipster and say the 08 Cubs were hated? The 2008 season was the best baseball year of my lifetime. [expletive] that whole regular season was awesome.
  8. McNeil turned down an offer to return to The Score. What a weirdo.
  9. I think he started with 10 minutes left in last night's game.
  10. Yeah, just a relentless bunch with a few very punchable guys (Dustin Brown by far #1). Going to dread playing them in a playoff series again. That game has me excited and nervous for the playoffs. Fun to watch.
  11. celebrities, their just like us. Yeah, good for them not relying on nannies all the time, I guess. But, my kids are the same exact age and if I had that kind of money, I would have a nanny on hand at just about all times that there was only 1 parent for more than a few hours.
  12. Bahahahahaha. Since when did the Braves become awful and dumb? Yikes.
  13. That's awesome for DePaul. It would be nice to see them become decent. Yeah, they basically had a lost 2 weeks where they lost 6 in a row and completely lost focus/confidence. Other than that, they are 11-3. WTF? They would have to keep this pace up all of conference season to even be considered for the NCAA, but they are in legit NIT range at this point, which is fun. If the Illini don't make the NCAA, I could see the NIT matching them up in a first round game to try and boost interest. Illinois would proceed to murder DePaul, but it would be cool for them to play for the first time in 60 years.
  14. Haven't heard anything by Thibs about Snell, but he hasn't had much choice with Dunleavy and McDermott out. Snell will have a comically bad play here and there, but can contribute some decent minutes. If he was a bit better on defense, he would get more run and would be a great fit. Rose was dirty last night. Good to see.
  15. This. Dude is always in the right place on offense and defense. Unbelievable. If he could have finished that chance in OT, that's a career highlight film quality goal.
  16. no, it's because the Score is their flagship station. Uh, no. The Cubs flagship station is WBBM, both of which are controlled by CBS. They have no reason to pump up the Sox and not the Cubs. In fact, they are probably paying more for the Cubs, so, if anything, they would push the Cubs more than the Sox.
  17. It's interesting that they have hired some offensive assistants without having an OC. Wouldn't the OC have some say in that? Or is this how it works everywhere?
  18. Yeah, that's great. LED and Solar Energy should be everywhere. Have you seen this: That may sound like a cool idea, but it's so unfeasible it should come with a laugh track. Oh, yeah, there's like 1,000 other You Tube videos debunking it's feasibility. Would be awesome, though.
  19. Yeah, that's great. LED and Solar Energy should be everywhere. Have you seen this:
  20. People who buy the "12th Fan" jerseys for Seattle should be imprisoned.
  21. That is just amazing He still got $4MM up front from the Bills buyout. He will probably make, what, $1MM with an assistant head coach title? I'd say Marrone will be fine. He'll get a mediocre NFL or College head coaching job next year.
  22. They are 2 games into a 12 game stretch where their opponent's average RPI is 22. If they come out of that stretch at .500 overall in the conference, it would be a miracle (would mean they went 5-7 over those 12 games). I guess my mantra for DePaul basketball is "one game at a time". If I look at all the Seton Hall and Villanovas on the schedule, it gets depressing. If DePaul didn't blow those games to Loyola Marymount and Lehigh, they'd actually have an outside shot for an NIT bit (just given where they are now, not necessarily that I believe they will get there) at 12-7 (4-2) and 3 Top 35 wins. Regardless its just fun to be actually discussing DePaul basketball in a positive light for a change. They were never really in the Lehigh game, but they should have beaten Loyola Marymount and ISU. Yeah, being mediocre is a cause for celebration, which is both encouraging and sad as hell at the same time.
  23. (nvm, they changed it to 84) http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Standings If that plays out, Cubs would be @PIT for the Wild Card game. And would score the 2nd most runs in the NL. Fuuuuuuck YES!
  24. Could a deal like that even get done with Javy as lead chip? A move like that leaves the Cubs one bat away from being a legitimate WS contender. Seems highly, highly unlikely Javy could be the lead piece in a move like that. That conversation probably starts with Addison Russell. Done Yeah, if you can get a contract extension for Strasburg, you have to really consider that.
  25. It opened at Seattle -2.5 and then people pounded the Patriots right away to quickly move it to a Pickem most places or SEA -1 still in a few places.
