  1. Hendricks pulled for Richard. Can't say I love this move with an already overworked bullpen. We already got the split, no need to go into playoff mode for a 3rd consecutive day.
  2. Yeah, I don't see HOW baseball people can continue to not see this. How awesomely exciting was that intentional walk/obvious K sequence?
  3. Glad to see cooler heads prevail...for now.
  4. Rizzo has been trash lately. This needs to stop soon.
  5. Completely agree. I was 100% OK with leaving them in there the last 2 nights, but from now until the playoffs (or possible dicey last series which better not happen), Arrieta, Lester, and Rondon have to be kept to an absolutely average to below average usage rate.
  6. Me too, but I hope I'm not overthinking it. Brady always had decent numbers vs. the Jets, even when the Jets were good.
  7. Left Shark was only moonlighting as a Super Bowl halftime dancer. This is his day job. I like this explanation better than the real one.
  8. Different leagues: Brady @BUF or Tannehill @JAX P. Manning @KC or Palmer @CHI I'm leaning Tannehill and Palmer, but after Brady's last week, it's hard to bench him.
  9. Why is there a secondary shark mascot in there? Whatever, congrats Pelicans!
  10. treebird owes us a photoshop history of something for abandoning us when we need him the most. I'm imagining a parody of that "footprints" story where it's 2 sets of footprints and then 1, and then a dead body at the end or something. MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
  11. All excellent points. And, right after my little rant, CI put out their most well balanced take on the whole thing yet. This is just about perfect summary of the events surrounding training camp. http://thecommittedindian.com/camp-roster-gaga/
  12. Believe me, I TOTALLY understand people being disgusted with what they assumed happened (and, let's be honest, probably did happen) and get sick of the moron fringe victim blaming (which is disgusting) and whatnot, but does anyone else feel that guys like Bernstein and The Committed Indian are going too far with their "Kane needs to go" and "I can't believe the franchise wouldn't ban him from all events" stuff? The Committed Indian, in particular. Those guys are mopping floors somewhere and watching at the UC with 7,000 of their closest friends if it isn't for the renaissance of this team, which Kane has arguably had as much influence on as anybody, and they're completely playing the woe is me card and writing stories about how it won't feel good if the Hawks win with Kane on the team when 6 years ago they would have probably taken a team full of criminals if it meant winning just 1 Stanley Cup. Like I said, I understand the sentiments about Kane, but all of it just seems a bit over the top before the situation resolves itself.
  13. I can't tell if this is a serious post or a joke Seriously, I can't tell. And I don't even know where to begin if it is. It's a joke. But I am seriously starting to struggle to see where the Cubs beat anyone in a playoff series unless Lester and Arrieta can start more than 50% of the games.
  14. [expletive] these guys, they're blowing it. Arrieta and Lester are only going to start 6 more games. Even if they go 6-0 in those games, they'll have to win 2-3 more. Hard to see where they will come from with this [expletive] bullpen.
  15. Theo and I had the same idea. The rest of you guys are clearly morons: http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/961800/one-done-cubs-proposed-3-game-2-day-wild-card-format
  16. I'm fairly certain people make that observation every single season. The top QB's on average keep getting older and older though. Breaking them up into segments: 33 and older Manning, Brady, Brees, Romo, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Palmer, Manning, Mccown 30-32 Rodgers, Ryan, Flacco, Smith, Cutler, Fitzpatrick Under 30 Luck, Wilson, Newton, Stafford, Tannehill, Bradford, Bridgewater, Kaepernick, Dalton, Foles, Bortles, Winston, Mariota, Carr, Cousins, Taylor, Hoyer That under 30 crowd is rough. Luck and Wilson obviously have top 5 potential. Newton might have it if he ever got weapons, but hasn't really improved since he got into the league either. The second year players aren't off to promising starts for that sort of potential, and obviously the rookies haven't had enough time. But there's going to be a massive gap when the top list starts retiring, and the last 7 drafts have not produced very many great QB's. There should still be time because most of those guys will play 3-5 more years, but the trend has to reverse pretty quickly, and some of the guys will start declining before they officially hang it up. Yeah, replace P. Manning, Brady, and Brees with the next 3 best guys (backups or top college guys) and that list looks pretty putrid. Thought the corner was turned there for a minute but RG3 ended up being a mirage, Kaepernick looks average at best, and Newton & Stafford have never really gotten any better. EDIT: That list is exactly why the Bears have stuck with Cutler for so long. He's easily still a top 15-20 QB in the league and could win a Super Bowl if on a team with an elite defense and/or playmakers around him, which you can't say for at least 10 guys on that list.
  17. Bo Way (CF-LAA) is an incredible name.
  18. Adrian Peterson and, more importantly, the Vikings game plan can eat a giant bag of dicks. Lost by 1 point because the #1 overall pick couldn't do [expletive] last night. [expletive] you, Vikings!
  19. Don't know if this is the best place to put this, but MLB.tv is only $10 for the rest of the season. Might be a decent investment, especially for any of you out of towners that didn't buy the whole season.
  20. Ellington may miss this one with a knee injury. Man, [expletive] that guy. Same [expletive] as last year when he tanked my fantasy season. Glad I avoided him this year. Cardinals 24, Bears 20.
  21. When DeRo came to bat, that's the loudest I've heard Wrigley. After? Complete silence the rest of the game.
  22. Do they, though? Between LF/RF/SS/2B/3B there are 3,000 PAs. Add 200 PAs at C for Schwarbs for a total of 3,200 and you break it down this way: Bryant 600, Russell 600, Schwarber 600 (inc. 200 at C/DH), Soler 400, Javy 400, Castro 400, Coghlan 200. I'm still not sold on Coghlan being the real deal. If he is, it becomes a big time crowd. Not to mention LaStella who I guess has some value. However, has Soler been able to stay healthy? What about Baez? Unless there is major clubhouse drama, it might be worth the risk to keep everyone around next year (sorry Jonathan Herrera).
  23. Let Lester go 120+ if that's what it takes to get through 8, imo Yeah, with the day off on Monday, Lester gets a bit of extra rest. Ride him today.
  24. Maybe wants to use Jackson as a PH instead of Denorfia later in the game? That's really all I've got. Denorfia sucks. That's what I'm thinking. Denorfia is fine defensively. And, well, I guess, here is the answer. Even a blind squirrel, I guess. Just injured my arm patting myself on the back.
