  1. I'm still shopping Dye, but I don't know what you're looking for. I would mention Atkins, but abuck might hurt me. Dye had a cheap asking price last night, just ask HBC. I would love Atkins, but I don't think I'd give up Gordon to get him. And if I don't replace your 3B, I'm not sure what I'd have to give in return. My other problem is that it was around this time last year that between my two leagues I gave up early on Markakis and, even worse, Morneau. I'd hate to change my mind on guys I like, only to see them have success elsewhere. Now my pitching, on the other hand, needs to step it up! Tell me about it. Atkins, Holliday, Hawpe, and Rios were all in my minors at some point. Several I tried to trade away, but I found no takers.
  2. I need a victory this week, but Juan is a tough opponent. His team always seems to turn things around when they are playing the Quakers. Something about your opponent being a bunch of pacifists that seems to rile the Lynx. :)
  3. This may be the year I finally fall short of the championship game. :( Time to unload Pujols for an 8th round pick! I really don't see King Albert in such a state for the entire season.
  4. Sorry Tim, but a victory against what has historically been one of the better teams in the league is especially sweet.
  5. :( On another note, are you still shopping a closer? :D My original offer still stands, I am debating your counter offer.
  6. Being bored, I took a quick look at the draft results at Roadkill. So far, it looks like the best first round choice was at #15, Bronson Arroyo. The worst choice was Brett Myers. In the second round the best pick was #27, Tim Hudson. The worst, Jeremy Hermida. In the third round the 47th pick, Edgar Renteria, was the best choice. The worst, Kei Igawa.
  7. Looking good for the Quakers. I just need to hang on for one more day. :D
  8. If this trend continues, I will have earned my first victory over Tim :D Go Quakers!!!
  9. I have a good feeling about Alfred Joseph.
  10. Many young guys (HS picks) end up there to start their first full pro season. Agreed. If he does well he should play for Boise later in the year.

Dang, Tim beat me to him. I was hoping to pick up Sean Rodriguez, but I have been really busy the last few weeks. Now I find that Tim picked him up a week or so ago... :x
  12. Isn't he playing CF...Does he project as a CF or is he corner outfielder who hits like Murton....? He's been playing CF, and from all reports I've seen he's been a defensive stud out there. I don't see any reason why he couldn't stick in CF. As far as hitting goes, they're quite different. To me Murton is a linedrive/doubles kind of hitter with average speed. He's got good a good eye and OBP, but not a whole lot of pop. From what I've seen of Colvin he's more of a flyball hitter with much more power and also much better speed. He will strike out more and probably won't get on base as much as Murton will, but overall he's a much more dangerous player. That's nice to hear. I thought he would handle CF well. He was obviously way above NWL average in left. He could also handle right. He has a very strong and accurate arm. Defensively I thought he was ready for the show last year. IMHO all he needs to work on is pitch recognition.

Things are not looking good for the Quakers. We are even on starts and I am down by about 80 points. Isn't there are rule somewhere that says you can use the extra points for one week during the next :^o
  14. It is not a big secret. The man in charge of the minors for Baltimore used to be in charge for the Cubs. He is giving a number of his projects, who didn't pan out for the Cubs, a new life in the Baltimore system.

    Week 4

Ugh...Bad pitching last night. Vazquez picked up only 5 points with my 4th start, and what had been my reliable pen all earn negative points. I still have the lead, but I have used 4 starts to his 1. Not looking good 8-[
  16. While watching Walker play for Boise for two seasons, the thought of Chris and Leagues Hitter of the Week did not merge. Always gifted with speed and a good glove, he is starting to mature as a hitter.
  17. I saw Boise on several occasions last year. I was impressed with Mario Mercedes. He lacked power, but was quick on his feet, had a strong arm, and hit well for average. In your opinion, was Mario left behind in EXST because he needed more imstruction or because Castillo was so impressive?

A nice start by the quakers :D Of course now I have used up three starts to my opponents one.

[expletive]!! It sounds like someone is not a happy camper :sunny:
  20. Any chance of Soriano going back to second?

    Week 3

:) Quite a number of teams had big weeks.
  22. I do believe that Marquis and Lilly will be better than feared. Anything from Prior, or Wood, would be icing on the cake. What I need to see though is for Howrey and Eyre to return to form.

    Gooooooooo DDDDDDDSquared :!:
  24. Canzler was "defensively challenged" last year too. But there should be some talent too. Joseph was very good in right.
