  1. Tick.....Tick...Tick....Impatient fantasy baseball fans are waiting for Juan to announce how he is going to limit starts? So you guys do not like a larger bench...I can live with that. How about limiting each team to four active starters?????
  2. Trade; HBC receives; Pence and Quaker's 6th round pick Quaker's receives; Delgado and Reynolds
  3. I know that this is not the direction you want to head in, but.... I would have kept the 4 outfield positions (I know that I suggested 3 outfielders earlier  ). Then I would have cut the number of starters from 5 to 4 (thereby limiting the potential difference in starts from 5 to 4) and increased our benches from 3 to 4 reservists so that we could have another starter on the bench and therefore be able to adjust our starting pitching each week so that we could limit the amount of weeks that we would have only 4 starts.
  4. Trade: Harry's Budcrew: Takahasi Saito Quakers: HBC's 5th round selection
  5. With one less outfielder and more points being allotted to pitchers, won't the disparity between those who have 10 starts in a week and those who have 5 grow even wider???
  6. Prehaps the Cubs are sending a public message to free agents and their reps that they are not desperate for a center fielder, hoping to get someone to reduce his asking price???
  7. Well duh...now that I have had a few free minutes....when I downloaded the new internet material it must of enabled the privacy program. Now I am back at full speed. As far as my problems with the No Child Left Behind Act, just imagine for a minute that the genius responsible for our current policy in Iraq is also responsible for our current national educational policy. Wait a minute.... I can't wait for January.
  8. Meh...Nothing like 4 preps, overcrowded classes, a new school, the every child is left behind act, .... to kill one's social life. That, and the fact that when I updated to the latest version of internet explorer I am having a tough time with the NSBB site. My computer moves very slowly from one page to another. It is not a problem with other sites. I think it has something to do with the security measures. When I uploaded McAfee's Privacy protector awhile back I had the same issues.
  9. Camp played a decent center, but not nearly as well as Walker. My guess is that the Cubs plan on moving Colvin to center next year, which would mean that Camp would have to find another position. He does not have the power to play a corner outfield position. This makes sense too. From what I saw, Clevenger is defensively challenged at second.
  10. He is a converted position player? That is news to me too. That would explain a few things. He did show some heat this summer, but I didn't see any evidence of a secondary pitch. A good slider would be an improvement.
  11. His defense is shaky at first, but he could potentially play the outfield. I am waiting to see how well he handles the pitchers at the higher levels.
  12. I am hearing a fat lady warming up off stage.
  13. As a Cub's fan this is my life's motto. But with Votto, Kendrick, Pence, Lind, and Salas making BA's first team prospect list and with Wood and Slowey making the second team I am happy. Maybin make the list for his level too :D I assume that it is impossible to pick up any free agents until the season starts??? Outside of GHS or NSBB to replace injured players of course.
  14. I posted my opinion after watching the last few games of the NWL championship series. Colvin is much better than his stats would indicate. His defense is fantastic, great arm, speed, easy swing. Give him a little time. Peoria or Daytona next year?? I think Daytona.
  15. Greetings!
  16. The Jays have some good young outfielders, Rios and Lind come to mind. If Reed Johnson is for real, Wells could be available. The Jays would want good, young arms. I hadn't thought about the Wells/Wilkens connection.
  17. Didn't Juan set the cap at 2250? If so, as of now my keepers are Smoltz, Millwood, J.Johnson, Rios, Zimmerman, Beltran, Kendrick, Mauer, and KRod. Right now the point total for the nine keepers is 2020. So my tenth will have to be from the following exempt players; Granderson, Hermida, Tracy, or Saito. BTW - I would be very interested in trading one of these exempt players for a draft pick. The pick would not have to be a first rounder, unless you really want to do so. These players are not point exempt, but are available.; Lopez, Gonzalez, Reed Johnson, Randy Johnson, Suppan, Cordero, Glavine, and Contreras.
  18. Kendrick has 200 abs.
  19. It is looking more and more like a repeat of last year's championship.
  20. Having seen Colivin play in the NWL championship, I think he will be a much better prospect than his current numbers indicate. Just my opinion.
  21. remember this? Yes, I remember.....I also remember being up by more than 50 points at one point :grrr: Oh, you were talking to Tim :pl:
  22. Not much to say about this game, except that it was ugly. At least the part I saw. ( I left early and missed the too little and too late rally. The best part of the game was when Matulia was stealing second. SK's catcher (Witter has a good bat, but defensively...) wound up and threw a blazing laser that hit his pitcher square in the butt and the ball ricocheted towards the first baseman. Everyone had the giggles for the next inning or so. Renshaw was not very effective. Maybe next year when he repeats at Boise. Clevenger and Cranzler need to improve their defense. Maesti is the best (and only) pitcher out of Italy that I have seen. :) Actually he will do well out of the pen for Peoria next year.
  23. Last July. Trinidad has a submarine style delivery that had Boise missing early in the year too. Burris, SK's shortstop, looks like quite a prospect. I think he was the Giants number one pick. Wasn't that Lincecum? I was close. According to the sheet I picked up at tonight's game, Burriss was taken in the first round of the 2006 draft. But he was the 33rd pick, so a supplemental round.
  24. The party's over. Well, my goal at the season's start was to make the play-offs. I acheived that. Good luck Juan. I hope to say that I lost to the team that won it all. Just wait until next year.
