  1. Is he full of crap because you think its his site, or because he may be pulling your leg that its his site?
  2. I haven't been 'round much lately. What is this "Lugo in center" groundswell? Where is it coming from?
  3. Does brick burn? i'm going to buy a nuke A case of vodka, a couple bags of rice, some western porn and Kim Il's email address probably gets it done.
  4. Why is he even in the conversation? Is Hendry enamored with him as a pinch hitter?
  5. that's a good point. i think i'd rather give lee 5/75 than soriano 8/135. Really? Lee 5 years from now will be less mobile than that damn mound in Houston in the outfield.
  6. Further, wasn't there some suspicion years ago that Soriano's age was mitigated by Dominican math?
  7. If you have Soriano, Murton and Jones for the corners, why not take a chance with Pie in center if we can get a Lugo-type for short?
  8. I thought it best to lay low during the Baker Fallout Tour. Way to wuss out of the fun. Probably one of my better uses of discretion. I did miss you at the last Wusses Anonymous meeting, though, Raisin.
  9. Well, Jones' arm would be an upgrade in center....hold it....
  10. I thought it best to lay low during the Baker Fallout Tour.
  11. At least in 6 years market inflation will make this deal look less insane. :D Has market inflation made ARod's deal look good? Personally, I never thought ARod's deal looked that bad, considering he was a SS at the time. I think ARod is still a very special player.
  12. $4.1M in salary relief is more than nothing. It's still robbery if the 4.1m in salary relief was given to Glendon Rusch and Neifi Perez. Does this figure include the $ sent to San Fran in the deal?
  13. SNIPE HUNT!
  14. Door 3: Carlos Beltran Of course, Beltran isn't available, and likely won't be until he is in decline. Its amazing how little Hendry was interested in this guy a couple of years ago. I don't want anything more to do with Pierre. Even if he is fast, that doesn't make up for his woeful showing with respect to power and his laughable arm. Take a chance with Pie and hold on to Pagan in case Pie is atrocious. Pierre isn't worth the money.
  15. So, what is so wrong with Tom?
  16. Finally. A Reynolds wrap.
  17. Great. That means Hendry will bid against himself and give Wade Miller a $500M contract and think he did a fantastic job.
  18. Thanks.
  19. Its not the worst of grammar miscues, but someone has got to fix the title to this thread. It looks like a plea that Ricky should get drunk after his outing.
  20. Its all about Baker all the time. It was Baker first in San Fran, and now its Baker first in Chicago. If Hendry wasn't so star struck by big names, he would have seen that before plundering the Cubs into this Baker mess for four years. What a brutal mistake.
  21. Will Carroll? Hack. Didn't he push some bogus report that Prior was injured during Spring Training? Pffft.
  22. I like Stone. I don't like Izturis.
  23. [abuck provocation]I thought for a second that this thread was about Rich Hill getting traded to the Nationals.[/abuck provocation]
  24. The irony is Stone wasn't as critical when it was a team 30 games under 500. He only became Steve Stone, defender of all truth and justice once he had beefs with the players. Stone was always the way he is now. This is absolute revisionist history. He was never the way he was in '04 back in '99 and '00 with truly terrible teams. Revisionist history? No. I would go so far to agree that Stone had never had such an adversarial relationship as he had with the '04 team, but to levee the fault of that situation on Stone is shortsighted. Recall the immaturity and unprofessionalism of Alou and Mercker alone. However, his criticism of poor play and bad baseball (which is the topic here) has been consistent going back the 80s. Making a claim of revisionist history is just misplaced.
