    Keepers

    Here are my keepers.
  2. So, you forfeit a draft pick? I don't know that much about NFL free agency other then a restricted player's original team has so long to match a deal. I didn't realize that you had to give up draft picks though?!?! I don't know either. As someone doing Sports Law, I should probably find out. Ha! LOL! Well, when you find out let me know!

  4. LOL! Dwight Freeney is a FA as well. What a year to be a FA, after winning the SB.
  5. Schaub is a restricted FA after this season, I believe? Or maybe it's next year?
  6. I was just saying earlier tonight that the Bears very well might take a shot with Troy Smith. Is Omar Jacobs available from the Steelers? I believe that's who he's with. Nevermind, apparently the Steelers cut him, the Eagles picked him up and then cut him. I wonder what happened with him. I thought he'd be good.

  8. Yup, best to judge a quarterback after his first full season of play. Unfortunately, many of Rex's flaws are not ones that are easily corrected, IMO. He has little poise under pressure, throws off his back foot too much, has poor pocket awareness, and seems to have an obstinate attitude regarding his flaws. Personally, I have always been very patient when it comes to developing players, like Corey Patterson, for example. But I see little in Rex Grossman that inspires confidence that he will develop into anything other than a league average QB, at best. And given his set of flaws, I think that would take 2-3 years to achieve. The Bears' overall talent level puts them in a position to win again next year, and perhaps the next, but the window will not be open forever. If I am Angelo, I move to add some stability to the offense. And the problem is if Rex isn't the answer, Griese isn't either, and Orton could easily be out of the league by next year. Do the Bears make a trade for someone like Byron Leftwich, which I don't see. Is a back-up like Schaub in Atlanta a better option then Grossman? Or do you go with a rookie straight out of the draft?
  9. People in Iowa don't have a lot to hold on to sports-wise, so they take it where they can get it. Hey, now! Step-off! I didn't vote for either of them. Of course, I'm an Illini fan that happens to live in Iowa. Well, you're in a select minority. Where in Iowa, btw? Eldora, I'm about 30 miles west of Waterloo Well, I am also a huge Illini fan, and spent most of my life in eastern Iowa, so I know how it is. Yeah, I get along with all the Iowa State fans................they hate the Hawkeyes too. I don't have to argue about the Cubs quite as much as I did when I was gowing up in Illinois w/ Card fans. Are you guys over Bruce Pearl yet? Figured Kelvin Sampson would make you forget about him. Bruce Pearl and his tapes are just as bad as Sampson. As Deon Thomas once said after the Pearl and Iowa situation: "It's hard to forget a snake!"

  13. They're the best team in the world. No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world. If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination. The Bear's were simply out of their league. The Colts didn't play their best football, and still beat the Bears, the Bears would have lost to NE, SD, Bal, or Indy. SIMPLE. sweet, i love when random people repeat what they hear on espn on the internet and act like its a unique thought What? I don't need ESPN or the internet to tell me what to think. The Bears couldn't have beaten New England, Baltimore, or San Diego, or Indianapolis, and that blantantly obvious. You make it seems as though Indy, came and played their best game. When the fact remains, They played shaky as well. As bad as the Bears played tonight, they were still in the game fairly late. If they had played well tonight they would have beaten Indy. I think that's blantantly obvious. And NE, Baltimore, and SD didn't make it to the Super Bowl so there's no point in bringing them up. Bears played a bad game tonight, Colts get a deserved win and a Super Bowl Championship. I think we can leave it at that.
  14. Yeah, I sold all mine in the last couple weeks. With I had some more to sell!!! I just noticed an ungraded Contenders Auto RC at $2,500 with 3 hours left on ebay.   did you see this, Chris: http://homepage.mac.com/dadour/peyton1.jpg Listed on eBay for $9,999.99 Wow!!!!
  15. Even if everyone stays there's no guarantee this team can repeat the success of this year. I think a tougher schedule may actually be a good think for the Bears. My concern is with the offense. Rex has to get better. I think he will, but will it be quick enough while this core of players are here.
  16. Just wondering, the only place I've heard about it is here, why all the sudden talk of Lovie leaving? I know he wants a new contract, but he's still got a year left, right? There were rumors the Cowboys were interested. He does have one year left. There's talk about trading him to the Cowboys for first round picks. I assume that's the media barking. Not gonna happen. The Bears will retain Lovie and he'll be the Bear head coach. No questions, in my mind. I believe there was a press release to this effect during the off week from the Bears. Riveria may get the Dallas job, though. I think the biggest question for the Bears is where do they go from now? The draft will be interesting to see what they do.
  17. Yeah, I sold all mine in the last couple weeks. With I had some more to sell!!!
  18. I'm about an hour and 1/2 from Des Moines........... I'll be going to quite a few ICub games especially if Pie starts there.
  19. Z and Lee for Neifi! Some things shouldn't be joked about!!!!!
  20. Chico and Turner can walk for all I care. help me and tell me why.... If any team hires Ron Turner, God bless them. What college football program wants to be driven into the ground? I hadn't heard?
  21. Chico and Turner can walk for all I care. If Rivera leaves, I hope Singletary comes back as a D-Coordinator/Assistant Coach.
  22. YES!!!! This is probably a good thing, but as an Eagles fan who has watched his team stay good for an extended period, I think the Bears (or any team) have to suffer some painful losses in free agency to maintain success. I remember back when the Eagles dumped Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor, everyone was furious - until Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown played Pro Bowl-calibre football. They let Jeremiah Trotter go in his prime, and they released Corey Simon. They identified their leader on defense (Dawkins) and let a lot of other guys walk. The Bears don't have the high-priced quarterback like the Eagles do, but they're still going to have to draft well so that they can replace talented players who they can't afford to keep. Like they did w/ Briggs when Rosie Colvin went to NE?

The Bears played like absolute crap and lost by 12 points. The Colts certainly played alot better then the Bears, but let's not get too stupid!
  24. And the '07 and '08 Cubs!!!!
