As long as the money is right, there shouldn't be an issue hiring one of them. This isn't the Illinois teams of the 70s that Lou took over, there's a bunch of talent on the team. Shaka is my #1 choice. Good coach, young, African-American, and has led a team to the Final Four. I'd prefer he keep both McClain and Howard too.

I loved Deon, still amazes me he didn't play in the NBA. Frankie, Sergio, and Marcus were tough. The Peoria Manuel Illini were fun to watch. Just couldn't get over the hump.

I said that about the 89 team too. I was too young to get too attached to those guys. My dad still hates Sean Higgins. My love affair with Illini basketball was founded in 1989. I still can't believe they lost to Michigan. The Nick Anderson shot in Bloomington still gives me goosebumps.

Rutgers doesn't scream must add to me. UConn doesn't match up academically w/ the other B10 schools and only offers basketball at this point. I don't know much about Maryland.
