  1. Sucks? Hardly. Incredible? Earth shattering? I don't think so. Joshua Tree was a real good album, IMO. High N' Dry and the Scorps Blackout album were constants in people's car stereos when I was young though. I went with Lep ;) In truth, neither group is an earthshaker to me. There's something about U2 that I can't stand. I don't know if it's there style, or what. Lep was more popular when I was young. Lep and GNR. I'd take Lep over U2 and GNR over Lep.
  2. Even RATM would have voted for Queen in that poll. No..................No! I'm don't much care for Queen at all. RATM was an awesome band, great live show.
  3. That made me laugh!!!!!! I'm going to the Rangers-Yankees game on Monday. I may have to make me an E-rod sign. It just kind of struck me.............. I can't explain it! But that there's funny......
  4. Ok, seriously this time: http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nl/chicubs/Gahill.jpg Spiderman himself, Glenallen Hill. He, like Roosevelt Brown never turned into exactly what they were advertised. Although Hill hung around alot longer.
  5. http://www.martyspsagradedcards.com/66063.jpg Oh, nevermind, he changed his name!
  6. That made me laugh!!!!!!
  7. Does anyone have any information on Pomeranz? He's a 6'7" 220lb. right handed pitcher. He's currently pitching for the Springfield Cardinals of the Texas League and is 7-3 3.98ERA 16G 16GS 95IP 99H 44R 42ER 12HR 27BB 61SO Alittle more info here: http://www.thestlcardinals.com/TRASxTheSTLCardinalsFarmReport.html http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/P/stuart-pomeranz.shtml

    WEEK 16

    Moyer.................. YOU SUCK!!!
  9. I'm voting against Queen the rest of the way as they beat RATM in Round 1. Just a travesty!
  10. U2 sucks..............period!

  12. Not that I agree with a move like this, but the Indians feel that they are probably going to have to move Martinez out from behind the plate because of his complete inability to throw anyone out at second. Teams are running on him at will. He's a good enough hitter to be above average at just about any position(he'll probably end up at first), so they certainly wouldn't be averse to acquiring some catching prospects. Remember the Indians drafted VMart as a SS. He was moved while in the Indians system to C. I don't think he'll be moved anywhere but 1B at this point, though.

    WEEK 16

Raw and I are in a close one. We'll be pretty much even after tonight. Another close one between us.
  14. I think they put him on waivers, with the chance to pull him off if the team that chooses him doesn't offer a reasonable trade. However, it also seems like they are willing to pretty much give him away, so the Cubs could be in a position where they can claim him, offer Toronto next to nothing (or who knows, maybe they want Rusch (or Nevin) for the stretch run) and then control him for the rest of the year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a team "pulls back" a player, said player must remain on the ML team for the remainder of the season and can't be traded?!?! I believe that's the way it works, but I'm not sure.
  15. I quoted the whole thing, in case you wanted the answer, but it's pretty funny that even Tigers fans are referencing this as "pulling a Dusty". Funny, and Sad for Woody and Prior. Does public image mean anything to Hendry? The fans have been unhappy for 2 years now yet nothing is done but raising prices and not listening to the media and outside influences. Aren't we already the biggest laughing stock in sports, you'd think he'd try to make a splash to show he gives a cr*p about this team. DO SOMETHING We are the biggest laughing stock. A waste of 100mil dollars is what the Cubs are. This team is pathetic, and at least some people recognize that the Cubs have idiots running this team. I disagree. Cubs are the laughingstock in BASEBALL, but to me the New Tork Knicks are the laughingstock of ALL SPORTS. They are still paying three coaches (Chaney/Wilkens/Brown not to coach the Knicks) they've traded just about every first rd and/or 2nd rd pick for a mediocre veteran, their payroll is nearing OVER 105 million. They are simply a worse run team in sports. But the Cubs are giving the Knicks a run for their money. Well unlike the Cubs, no one is pulling for them to suck majorly for good draft picks. That's because the Bulls had their best draft pick this year and I believe have their best 2007 pick as well. I wouldn't be pulling for my team to suck if I knew they wouldn't get their top draft pick (only in basketball and football). The Bulls have the option to flip-flop first round picks with the Knicks. Which means the Bulls will probably have another lotto pick next year.

  17. You sign free agents because you have the money to, it's not a bad crop of free agents, and because you have a young enough, and talented enough team to compete very soon with the right veterans. Heck, do you think the Marlins wouldn't love to have 2 more veterans in that lineup right now? With two bats and one arm, they're a playoff contender. Add Zito and Schmidt to a pitching staff that includes Willis and Zambrano and OH MY GOODNESS. You have 4 Cy Young quality pitchers in your rotation. And a lineup that includes Carlos Lee and Miguel Cabrera to go along with so much young talent could score runs, imo. It would be the sheer definition of reloading... or in the case of the Cubs, loading. Wouldn't it be easier to just trade for Schmidt and Zito then sign them both to contracts? DFA Rusch and one other. Sign C. Lee in the offseason? I think it's a stretch the Marlins would trade either one of Willis or Cabrera let alone both. I'd love to have Cabrera (more so then Willis), but it probably won't happen.
  18. Sorry, but I disagree with you on several points. The DOdgers would rather have a rookie with 2 weeks MLB experience in a pennant race than an All-Star caliber player at catcher? Not buying it. And, they are gonna' rely on Saito and Baez and be okay with that? I think they'd jump at the chance to acquire those three players. As far as the Angels go, there is no way we give up Lee for Kennedy, and if you think the Angels wouldn't deal a prospect for Lee, then we just have to agree to disagree. Figgins, Walker/Kennedy, Vlad, and Lee at the top of their lineup? Deadly, especially in the AL West, where a bat like Lee could put them way over the top. And, with the Mets, fine, give them Marshall too. Whatever it takes. The Dodgers already have 3 catchers on their roster w/ Hall, Martin, and Alomar. One would probably have to comeback to us. I think the point is that it's too much to send to the Dodgers for just Loney and LaRoche. It's not necessarily a situation where the Dodgers wouldn't be interested, but the dynamics of the trade would have to be different. If I were trading with the Dodgers I'd AND I was trading Lee (and just Lee) I'd have to get LaRoche AND Either at the very least. If I added an All-Star 3B and C it would be a heck of alot more. Yes the Dodgers have 3 catchers on the roster, and none are as good as Barrett. It's a pennant race, and if you can improve, you do so, and this would be a big improvement for them. And, Lee is not part of the Dodgers equation. But if Loney and Laroche aren't enough, then I ask for Ethier, or at the very least Izturis, who gives us another chip (either him or Ronny). What I'm saying is the Cubs would have to take a C back in the deal.

  20. 134.2-129.85 before TB and QS are added/subtracted. Gonzalez squeezes in a W for Pittsburgh which helps. I have 2 QS so that's 14 pts and then the TBA will be subtracted. I should be ahead overnight, though. Danger Bees loses the lead to Sanitizers by 6 pts. Tooters loses lead to Buddiga as well. Trots is still leading Quaker though.
  21. Errors tell you absolutely *nothing* about defensive ability? Sorry TT, but I disagree. Maybe they don't tell you much about a guy's phyical ability to play defense.....but if you can't make the plays well then-----you can't make the plays. And 14 errors is so many more than many other shortstops. It's not that he's able to get to balls that others can't and they are being called errors. It's that he is just shaky on defense, like yesterday when he airmails a throw to first. Errors don't tell you anything. Sorry to break this to you. Yes they do. I don't care what "conventional wisdom" has developed to say it means nothing. If I've got a guy who continues to airmail the ball into the dugout, or muff easy double-play balls, he's not going to stay in the starting lineup very long. Especially if it starts costing me ballgames. I do agree it would be wrong to just throw Cedeno out because of what's happening only this season, under this incompetent coaching staff. What if his name was Soriano?
  22. That's unbelievably pathetic. Now compare the ones that played everyday for OTHER teams. Palmero, Dontrelle Willis............. there's others.................. who?
  23. He still may! "Hey Dusty, Dude! You remember that Cliff dude from the White Sox? They F'd up and DFA'd him! He's a lifesaver man!"
