    WEEK 11

I hate weeks like this! Who's 'Bulbs and Alamo's manager's? I've had trade offers up for a week now with no response!

    WEEK 11

To sum up my week thus far.................. UGH!!!!
  3. Looking for an upgrade at OF! I'm willing to package Chavez for the right OF. Let me know if you have any interest!

    WEEK 11

Hopefully that will even it up a bit! I was alittle worried as I didn't have very many players on for today. Jones owed me a win after that scrap performance last week!

    WEEK 11

    Period 11: 6/12/06 - 6/18/06 Northside Baseball ( 8-2 ) at Alamo Stealth ( 4-6 ) Quakers ( 8-2 ) at Lynx ( 7-3 ) DB Coopers Flyers ( 2-8 ) at Danger Bees ( 3-7 ) Fuzzy Logistics ( 1-9 ) at Passion of the Matt ( 6-4 ) The Leon Trotskys ( 4-6 ) at Buddiga ( 9-1 ) Galesburg Hand Sanitizers ( 7-3 ) at Harrys Budcrew ( 8-2 ) Raw Dawgs ( 5-5 ) at Skeletons of Society ( 4-6 ) Burning 'Bulbs ( 2-8 ) at NC Cubbies ( 2-8 ) EAST BUDDIGA 9-1 HBC 8-2 GHS 7-3 RAW DAWGS 5-5 TROTSKYS 4-6 SOS 4-6 BULBS 2-8 NC CUBBIES 2-8 WEST NSBB 8-2 QUAKERS 8-2 LYNX 7-3 PASSION 6-4 ALAMO 4-6 DANGER BEES 3-7 DB FLYERS 2-8 FUZZY 1-9 *****GAMES OF THE WEEK***** Quakers ( 8-2 ) at Lynx ( 7-3 ) Galesburg Hand Sanitizers ( 7-3 ) at Harrys Budcrew ( 8-2 ) A couple big division match-ups this week for these four teams.
  6. At least it's not the middle of the playoffs!
  7. I may actually have a shot at leading in pts this week. I'm 1 pt behind right now.
  8. Todd Jones finally ended his skid today. He had blown 3 of 4 saves and was KILLING me! He's almost in the positive for the week now. Other then him, my pitchings been solid the last couple of weeks.
  9. I'm hoping for a big offensive day today w/ Doug having 2 starts to my 1. I don't trust any lead after Raw's 80+ pt. comeback last week. I can't believe my team outlasted that.
  10. Lynx and Fuzzy are neck "n" neck rounding corner 4. Nice match-up!
  11. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
  12. Damn, I'm glad I got a good player in that deal! If it weren't for Cantu, I'd probably not have traded Uggla. I like having Ichiro, though!
  13. Moises and Cantu are activated from DL. I dropped Padilla and Wright to make room and have put both in my line-up.
  14. Yeah, now you tell me! Would have been nice to know earlier!
  15. He had a great week last week! I remember being very thankful that he was on your reserves.
  16. Yeah, 9 out of 16. That's actually pretty good for as long as we've kept it going.

    WEEK 9

Shoot me an offer, I'd like to improve my OF.

    WEEK 9

Same here, Raw's now within 2 pts after being over 80pts down. I do have 2 starts tomorrow, but I didn't expect to need them.

    WEEK 9

Last night stuck me pretty good! Raw managed to scrap back to within 24 points. Might be a close one after all.
  20. You could certainly cut some fat by replacing Blanco with Soto (1.2M), just about anyone for Pierre but let's say Michaels (4.25M), and someone like Buck Coats or Restovich to take Conine's spot (1.4M). That'll get you down to around 97.9M. Insert Marshall for Millwood, and you're close to 90. Drop Seanez for Wuertz, and you have enough money to put Tejada at SS and you're back in that 95 range. Nitpicking, but it's Derrek, not Derrick. Yeah, I kind of got stuck around the 104 range and wasn't sure where to go................. I figured someone would have some ideas. To think the Cubs could have Vlad, Tejada, Aramis, AND DLee for the same money....................depressing really!
  21. Ok, this is a tough one but I'm going to try and budget using the last 3 years of FA and make a better team. I'm sure they'll be some mistakes, but bear with me: Pitchers: Aardsma, David $ 330,000 Dempster, Ryan $ 4,333,333 Eyre, Scott $ 3,200,000 Prior, Mark $ 3,650,000 Wood, Kerry $12,000,000 Zambrano, C $ 6,500,000 Byrd, Paul $ 5,000,000 Millwood, Kevin $ 7,868,893 Williamson, Scott $ 2,000,000 Seanez, Rudy $ 1,900,000 Ohman, Will $ 610,000 Novoa, Roberto $ 320,000 Pitcher Total: $47,712,226 Positional Players: 1B: Lee, Derrick $ 9,416,667 2B: Cedeno, Ronnie $ 336,000 SS: Eckstein, David $ 3,333,333 3B: Ramirez, Aramis $ 11,000,000 C: Barrett, Michael $ 4,333,333 LF: Murton, Matt $ 337,000 RF: Guerrerro, Vlad $ 13,500,000 CF: Pierre, Juan $ 5,750,000 Bench: C: Blanco, Henry $ 1,500,000 IF: Walker, Todd $ 2,500,000 Mackowiak, Rob $ 2,250,000 OF: Conine, Jeff $ 1,700,000 Mabry, John $ 1,075,000 TOTAL TEAM PAYROLL: $ 104,743,559.00 It's not 95M, but it's managable.
  22. Florida also made a big roster move too namely Cabrera, so McKeon wasn't the only reason why they won the World Series. Regarding Zim, it was career years for Jerome Walton and Dwight Smith that helped win in '89, problem was they had career years as rookies. I still don't know why people would think that a managerial change alone would do the trick. Hendry's philosophy didn't just get created with Baker's arrival. If Hendry did fire Baker (no way) he'd just hire another Dusty Baker type guy, only he wouldn't be named Dusty Baker. You mean like a Don Baylor?
  23. So...when you pick them, you get them at their current contract status? So picking someone like Z you only get two years before he's FA (and he'll be expensive next year), but Verlander is yours for five more years? I'm not sure about 2-10, but Pujols is #1. I think he is talking pure talent wise TO START a franchise. Not taking in account the contract status. With that said this would bemy top 10: Alex Rodriguez Miguel Cabrera Derek Jeter Manny Ramirez Albert Pujols  Roy Oswalt Carlos Zambrano Vladimir Guerrero Carlos Beltran (yes, a surprise.....but still a productive 5 tool player) Grady Sizemore Eh, I would take Santana over Oswalt, who is 29. I would also take Wright over Jeter, and move ARod back to short. I would not take Manny, as he is 34. Top 10: Pujols Cabrera ARod Santana Z Sizmore Wright Bay Peavy Mauer First: I think Oswalt is more dominate then Santana, even if you factor in the leagues they pitch in. I just think Oswalt has better pure stuff then Santana, hence I put him over Santana. Second: So you wouldn't take Manny because he is 34, yet you would take Albert Pujols because he is 32 (alledgely)? I don't buy your reasoning. Manny, IMO, is slightly better hitter then Pujols (not by alot, but still...) and even at 34, I'd still take Manny over Pujols. Players from the DR have always had their age questioned. I've heard it less in the last couple of years, but in the past I've had conversations and read articles on all kinds of foreign born players. You can only assume that Pujols is 26 as that is what MLB stats his age as. There's also alot of similarities between Manny and Pujols. To me, Pujols is very similar to Manny but obviously younger. Pujols has at least 10 more productive years if he stays healthy and I believe that he could be one of the greatest of all-time when it's all said and done. I'd pick Pujols over Manny...............EVERY TIME! No question in my mind.
  24. Im not opposed to that either. Buy, Earn, Steal. Whatever. Hire Barry Bonds as the trainer.............. juice everyone! Better eye sight, more power............. We're on to something!

    WEEK 9

Raw, it worked out for me! They may be the first time ever I've had 3 QS in the same day.
