  1. WFAN out of NYC reported that the Yankees made an offer for Abreau and that the Phillies asked for Melky and Hughes in return. I guess Cashman says he won't trade both AND take money on. This is a classic trade situation. The Phillies obviously want as much as they can get for Abreau, but they're willing to trade him BECAUSE of his salary. Everyone in baseball knows that, so why is anyone going to give them top tier prospects? Doesn't make sense. And from what I hear Abreau wants his option picked up AND and extension. No thanks!
  2. Dropped Brown, moved Either to the ML reserves, and AMAZINGLY picked up Chris Iannetta and put him in my minors. I say amazingly because this league hawks prospects like no other! LOL!
  3. Yeah, alot of players will be put out there.

Eldora area. I'll be up on the 15th for closing on the house. I have to make it to Des Moines to see Felix Pie. He wasn't there when I moved out of Iowa, so I was a bit disappointed not to see him.
  5. Can you believe I got a win: 13.1 INN, 25 HA, 3 BBI, 9 K, 19 ER, W, L Just plain bad pitching today!

Looks like I'll be moving back to Iowa in the next couple weeks. I'll have to hook up w/ you for an ICubs game!
  7. Matt Morris is trying his best to make it closer: 2.1 INN, 7 HA, 2 BBI, K, 7 ER That's ulgy!
  8. Ya think!!!

    WEEK 16

I'm really suprised I pulled this game out this week. My pitching was awful. NC always keeps it close as well.

    WEEK 16

And then J. Julio pitched for Raw....................

    WEEK 16

HBC 228.95 Raw Dawgs 230.8 I'm going to lose some points w/ Gonzalez's TBA. I only have Renteria going tonight. He'll probably have to have a 4-5pt game. If I lose this week it's solely on my pitching staff. I've lost almost 20pts w/ pitchers this week.
  12. Nobody. Teams DON'T usually TRADE for pitchers like Dempster already SIGN an extension. My guess is Milwaukee would be more interested in Scott Williamson then Dempster. And Corey Hart would be about right. I wouldn't say teams DON'T. It's unusual, but it happens. Dempster's extension really doesn't matter much to me and I would think it would get MORE from the Brew Crew because they know it's not a rental. If Dempster was Mariano Riveria I wouldn't trade him in the division, but we're talking about Dempster. I've never been wild about him. I know, I know he has done the job............... He's one of a long list of Cubs closers that have got the job done, but given me ulsers in the process. See Rod Beck as well. Besides, like any trade..... depending on what's offered you can make the trade anyway. Trade Demp, and work out an agreement w/ Wood to come back next year as a closer. I think he'd be great at it.

    WEEK 16

Between Turnbow and Moyer I've lost 17 pts this week........... and I'm down by 9............................... UGH!
  14. Knobs at #25 was a decent player for alot of years and was even an All-Star.
  15. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h230/cbbryan1/brad_komminsk_autograph.jpg Brad Komminsk anyone?
  16. Joey actually was a pretty damn good ballplayer! Link Yeah, I always thought Joey was a funny name for him. Just didn't fit. If it weren't for injury he would have put up alot more numbers.
  17. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h230/cbbryan1/images.jpg Pokey Reese anyone?
  18. G'N'[expletive]'R MAN!!! It's too bad Axl is an arse, or they may have had alot more stuff out. But Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, Mr. Brownstone, November Rain, Patience............. They had some great songs.
  19. A-Rod's 0-4 w/ 4Ks today against Toronto. He just struck out for the 4th time and the bases where loaded. I can hear the boos!
  20. The up and comers for the Mets: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h230/cbbryan1/012063.jpg Bill Pulsipher http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h230/cbbryan1/010036.jpg Paul Wilson Jason Isringhausen has made his career as a closer, but was touted as a great starter. Wilson's still around, but he's not what he was touted either.
  21. Turnbow is killing the Brewers lately and they really have no one w/in the organization to fill the closer spot. Any ideas on who the Cubs could get back in return? Would Corey Hart be out of the question? How about Mark Rogers, Ben Hendrickson, or Hernan Iribarren? Or dare I say Fielder, Hardy, or Weeks..............

  23. Accardo is 1-3 4.91 ERA in 38 games for the Giants. He has 3 S/ 6 SVO. He actually went to Illinois State and made his MLB debute in May 2005. Chulk is 1-0 5.25 ERA in 20 games w/ Toronto. Neither seem like great pitchers.
  24. Greenwell actually had a decent career until he decided to be a race car driver. The guy finished at .303/.368/.463. Green monster-aided he might have been, but the guy was no bust. I have quite a few Mike Harkeys and Ty Griffins amongst my old time collection (currently residing in my dad's attic); but for colossal busts, I don't don't think you get much bigger than Shawn Abner. ah, very nice one there. Brien Taylor. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h230/cbbryan1/f1_1_sbl.jpg Such a shame.............. Anyone want to fight? He now works for his father as a brick mason.
