  1. If I'm sitting in an area with the possibilities of hard hit foul balls, I'll usually bring a glove. I guess I just don't base my decisions on what strangers at a baseball game will think is cool. I'm not sure how paying to watch other people play a game is a grown up thing to do in the first place. And for the record, I've never kept a foul ball. And one more thing. I probably went to my first AAA game when I was about 5 and went to a few Cubs games when I was about that young and always followed the entire game closely. I remember one time the Cubs were getting killed and I was worried my dad would want to leave early. The majority of kids probably aren't like that, but I think saying that you shouldn't take kids to a game until they're older is pretty immature.
  2. Haha, Utley has moved up in my mind from neutral to awesome.
  3. It's not like I come over here to talk junk or anything, I just come over here because I enjoy talking baseball. I think they're referring to your little buddies that have been posting in this thread. (To them, not to you) After just splitting a series with the Rockies at home, with Sheets and Sabathia both pitching...that's probably not the best time to get all cocky.
  4. At least the black guy was the fast one.
  5. Dude, they beat the other team almost half the time. I'd be cocky too.
  6. Haha, it looks like they used a crayon to photoshop Gaudin's picture.
  7. I would say definitely not. Wood needs some work, let him finish it out.
  8. The Brewers losing Sheets v.s Rusch would be pretty good for us. I hope it happens.
  9. No kidding. It was all downhill after The Parent Trap. mean girls ftw. Just want to make sure you know I was joking. She was like 12 in Parent Trap. never saw it. You should go rent it asap. Its a classic.

  13. Mulder makes his triumphant return tonight. Hopefully that's chalk full of entertainment.
  14. If Hill continues to progress, then they have to get rid of Marquis, right? If they kept a strike throwing Hill in the minors just because Marquis is on the team, I'll whine about it.
  15. If you buy the drinks, and lots of them, anything can happen. If you're not a chick, I hope you're at least a girly looking dude. (Wait. That should be in green, right?) I'm the latter...and this is starting to push the limits of my comfort zone. Go Cubs.

  17. I thought this was going to be you asking for a date to the world series. If you do want to ask that, I'd be available.
  18. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there's another great thing about this deal. Now if Hill comes back, Marquis is the only one he can bump from the rotation. He don't have any more rascally kids to send down. So if Hill has actually found it, then that could spell the end of Marquis reign of terror.
  19. This trade is bittersweet, but mostly sweet. Murton and Gallagher were 2 of my favorites. I think the move is probably good for both of them and its definitely good for us. I bet Murton is really excited to be somewhere he has a chance to play.
  20. http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080708&content_id=3092033&vkey=news_oak&fext=.jsp&c_id=oak I'm a bit surprised they're not bringing Murton to the mlb club. Donaldson is getting promoted. I find that surprising. Seems like Beane really thinks highly of him. I don't blame him. Still surprising to see him get promoted given the season, especially possibly two levels to the Texas League. Great, now he'll be the next Joe Mauer and we'll just have a stupid world series championship to show for it.
  21. it's really not. We give up one clearly major league level player for 2 even at a basic level its very low risk. I would have done the trade without Gaudin, but with him thrown in its like we don't even lose Gallagher's production at all Yeah, since this is a win now trade and Gallagher was on his way to the pen, this can't really make things worse.
