  1. I seriously want him nowhere near the playoff rotation. Z - Harden - Dempster. Repeat. Get Gaudin/Marshall in there. I'd be fine with that also, but I'm not sure Lou would be. I haven't searched the board today - Has Lou named Marshall the starter on Sunday? yes Len and Bob said he'd be going Saturday, with Dempster getting an extra day and going Sunday. Ah...I just saw the headline on cubs.com that said Marshall was starting and assumed it would be Sunday.

  4. I've been out of town and moving and what-not lately and just realized how insanely awesome Marmol has been the past month or so. Very glad he's back to the beginning of the year Marmol.
  5. Its pretty crazy that basically every team that would be a rivalry/revenge team has a good shot at the playoffs. Dbacks, Cards, Brewers, Mets, Marlins, White Sox. I would definitely like the Cardinals to be the WC team. I think I would prefer the Dodgers to win the west. Manny makes their lineup a lot more intimidating, but outside of Billingsley their rotation isn't very impressive. They're all decent (except Penny) but unspectacular. And I think the Mets are the team in the east that I would most like to face. I think a playoff series against the Cards or Mets would be pretty awesome.
  6. I think Cotts and Marshall have proven that they can be used for full innings. They actually have better numbers against RHH than LHH. That might be because they're only allowed to face crappy RHH or something, but at this point they're better options for a full inning than Howry.
  7. Poor Bob Howry. Where did that 3rd most effective fastball go? over the fence.
  8. Your arguments are the kind of arguments that can be used for every game. If certain things had gone different in every game this season, the Cubs would be undefeated.
  9. Basically what you're saying is that the Brewers lost because of their weaknesses. The Brewers play bad defense, have a bad bullpen, and a bad manager. Of course your weaknesses are going to cost you games.
  10. So...the only other baserunners in the entire game that failed to score for the Brewers were "classic Brewer game"? They got 8 baserunners, and 4 scored, 3 on HRs. Hart wasn't clearly safe, and it was mostly Lee's fault for not letting the ball through, because Fielder would've been out. Torres was lucky to get out with only giving 2 runs up. Fukudome and Soto both K'd during AB where they swung at balls out of the zone. The Cubs had 10 left on base, and left 6 of them in scoring position. No team is going to convert every chance. The Cubs converted a lower % than the Brewers. No, we didnt come through with runners in scoring position. We had huge errors and Hart WAS clearly safe. It was a good game, but if your going to be a tool about it and not even say it was and say something like "Well we should of won by more" which you should not of. I dont even want to talk to you. To all good Cub fans, good game. 1 out of 162, but I wish we would of won. Then don't go to a Cubs message board.
  11. Ned Yost on C.C. July 8th Colorado Rockies 6 innings 97 pitches, he was being nice to C.C. that night. July 13th Cincinnati Reds 9 innings 122 pitches, here we go Ned! July 18th San Fran Giants 9 innings 110 pitches keep up that pitch count Ned! July 23rd St Louis Cards 9 innings 106 pitches over 100 for the 3rd time in 4 games as a Brewer July 28th Chicago Cubs 6 2/3 124 pitches 5 games as a Brewer 4 games over 100 pitches Average of 112 pitches per outing, not a very good number to be averaging over a 5 game span for your ace pitcher unless you are planning on wearing him down completely come playoff time. He may be a big guy but 110 pitch average is going to wear anyone down. Its especially stupid that he works Sheets as hard as he does considering his injury history. This may be the second year in a row that Yost is the Cubs MVP. He's already gotten rid of Gallardo for us.
  12. I've figured Marmol out. His bad stretch was a protest against gas prices. As long as they kept going up, he was going to keep his ERA equal to gas prices. Now that they're starting to go back down, he's bringing his ERA back down. A tip of the cap to you, Marmol. This is a huge win. Easily the worst matchup of the series.
  13. But it is his fault he sucks. But its not like he can just stop sucking. However, Lou CAN stop using him. Blame goes to Lou.
  14. The blame has to go to Lou. Howry can't help it that he sucks. Lou should have figured out that he sucks by now.
  15. You feel the rumble? That's the sound of Fielder sitting his fat arse down on the bench.
  16. Yost might leave him out there for 140 for all we know. He "only" threw 106 his last outing, so to Yost he's good for about 150 tonight.
  17. I don't get why it's so popular to hate Ted Lilly all of a sudden. The fact that he's been terribly inconsistent. I don't want to DFA him or anything. I just don't want him to start in the playoffs if we get there.
