  1. I have a feeling that even if we score 10 runs, Lilly will keep the Brewers in this game. Hill needs to get back up here if for no other reason than to keep Lilly from pitching in the playoffs.
  2. Harden through 6, Shark takes it from there. Bam, lights out city. Seriosuly, Id be willing to bet on LF Soriano CF Pie RF Fuku with Reed Johnson as the 4th. 2009 will probably be Pies last chance. He'll start the season, probably platooning with Johnson, and it it doesnt work out, they find someone else through a trade. I guess it depends on who owns the team and how we finish the year. If we don't win the world series and if Cuban owns the team, I don't see us going into the year with a Soriano, Pie, Fukudome outfield unless we get someone like Utley or Hanley Ramirez.
  3. Option 1: Move Fukudome to CF, sign a RF (or LF and move Soriano to RF), and trade Pie Option 2: Put Pie is CF, keep everything else the same. Option 3: Keep the Edmonds/Johnson platoon, keep everything the same. Option 4: Let Samardzija start every game and don't even bother having people play defense Option 5: other Option 3 would probably easily be the worst. Option 2 would give us great defense, but we'd also have to worry about Lou panicking if Pie has a bad game. I would go option 1, cause Fukudome doesn't seem like he's going to be productive enough to stay in RF, but would be good production out of CF along with his defense still being solid. Intriguing OF free agents: Milton Bradley, Pat Burrell, Adam Dunn, Raul Ibanez, Manny Ramirez, Bobbly Abreu, Casey Blake, Vladimir Guerrero (has a club option).
  4. I disagree. Watch who you're tying that garbage to.
  5. Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up?
  6. For next year I'm hoping we cut Marquis (hopefully this year), trade Lilly, sign someone like Sabathia (our new owner, Mark Cuban, will have the money), and go with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Harden, Hill, Samardzija. The amazing part is that it doesn't seem that unrealistic.
  7. Someone said 106 tonight I believe. I think he was around 115 in another? 106, 110, 122 Dusty told me I was close enough. I was hoping the stupid Cardinals would at least work him a bit towards the end of the game today, because I really doubt Yost would have taken him out, being that he's an idiot and all.
  8. I'd be fine with Fukudome being 0-2 every night if he can get 3 walks.

  10. Bruce Miles suggested that we'll see that in another thread. I could be mistaken, but I thought he said we may see him in Sept., not before. That's what I thought too.
  11. Let me preface this by saying that Wuertz should be brought back up ASAP. But he was sent down in large part because he hadn't pitched well since the middle of May. At some points in there, he had some strange usage patterns, and at other points he didn't. But he was pretty bad for about a 40 day stretch and his last 15 appearances in the majors or so. I didn't pay that close attention. Its just weird how much he's been jerked around considering he's been pretty consistently solid for a few years now.
  12. Is there any chance we'll see Samardzija up here before September?
  13. That home run sends Howry's ERA rocketing above 5. Good thing Wuertz was sent packing after 1 bad outing after not pitching for over a week.
  14. Why in the world is Howry the only BP pitcher besides Wood that Lou trusts?
  15. So you keep your eyes closed when he pitches too, eh?
  16. that's not a bad thing. I much rather have reasonable pitch counts.
  17. I saw "caught stealing"....with Aramis Ramirez on first....what in the hell just happened?
  18. Losing is what this team does best. After all, they have a reputation to uphold. seriously? When did you start following the Cubs? Once again. THIS team refers to 2008 no? No, it refers to the Cubs franchise.
