  1. Thanks for posting. Should be some good matchups. I really like the AC Milan/Bayern Munich matchup. Hopefully they'll show that game on 4/3. I doubt it. English teams always get preference. My bets are on PSV-'Pool and Man U-Roma Are they not going to be showing games on espn2 and classic at the same time? I'm not sure if they will or not but I was just referring to ESPN2 since I don't get Classic. I didn't realize that, thought everyone got Classic.
  2. Durant up to 26 points all of a sudden. Guess someone pissed him off as he had 5 at half time. Texas down 6 now.

  4. Wow. Just heard this on ESPN. Bill Simmons has probably passed out in disbelief by now. I'm a little curious about his ankle now.
  5. Gordon still has to prove that he's ready to play in the majors everyday. If he proves that he can, he'll be at 3b and Teahen will be in a corner outfield spot. In the meantime, it's probably a good move on the Royals part to give Teahen reps at 3b and in the OF. Why? The only reason to hold him back is to delay his arbi clock. I think you're reading too far into my post. If he absolutely tanked it in ST offensively and defensively, there is the remote possibility that KC feels he needs a little bit more seasoning. My previous post is basically repeating the old adage that players have to earn their playing time. Maybe I should have stated that Gordon has to prove to the manager of the Royals he's ready to play 3b everyday. I'm quite certain Gordon WILL be at 3b on opening day. ok, gotcha
  6. I like Quinn and think he's the most sure thing of the QBs, but that blanket statement is a little too much in my opinion. I fully expect Quinn to have the better career. But he can't touch Russell talent wise. I see this as a situation similar to last year's with Leinart and Vince. Leinart was more of a sure thing, Vince had far more upside (but was less likely to be good). Except Young's upside came from unbelievable athleticism that Russel doesn't have at all. Russell is definitely very athletic, he just doesn't use it in the same way Vince does. Russell can be a very good thrower when he's on, Vince is frankly bad most of the time throwing the ball. Thus, Russell doesn't have the need to show his athleticism as often as Vince does. The #1 problem with Russell is his inconsistency and oftentimes poor decision-making. Vince, on the other hand, while a bad passer (though I've seen signs of him getting better slowly) makes the plays late in a game when he needs to. The run against the Texans in OT, the run against the Bills late in the fourth, multiple third down completions to keep drives alive. Russell is the better pure QB right now, but he's less consistent and falls apart when he struggles early. Agreed, Young has a ways to go in the professional passing game, while he developed a passing game in his senior year of college rather quickly, but that 6.7 YPC rushing will go a long way towards easing growing pains for the titans Oh yeah, he may be better at running the ball now than Steve McNair was in his first couple of years. Steve was a better passer though. Also, something that gives me more hope for Vince is that he struggled a year or two in college and then improved his junior year and broke out his senior year (technically beginning in the junior Rose Bowl visit). So it may take three to four years, but I am very confident he'll become at least another McNair. It wasn't until the Kansas game his junior year that it really began to click for him. Up until that point most NFL scouts were looking at him as a WR. Its really hard to imagine that now.

  8. For real....Grace really [expletive] himself on the field? LOL. I was painting my mom's utility room and heard the whole show. Even the part where a Cardinal fan called in to complain the they talked to Wood and not Carpenter or Wainwright. Patrick diplomatically said that they were at the Cub's camp. I would have had to point out the fact that the Cards train in Florida, but DP restained himself. Basically, Wood said the Grace was trying to pass gas and got a little more than he bargained for. Even went so far as to say it was "running down his leg." There's a lovely mental image. Then he had to lead off the next inning so he basically played 1.5 innings before he could get to the club house. They played the interview for Grace when they had him on later and he laughed and confirmed the story. Patrick asked Grace for a story on Wood and Grace said one time Wood was crusing on the mound, then went into one of his famous stretches where he couldn't find the plate one inning. Grace said he went to the mound and told Wood, "Do you see those two girls I left passes for over behind the dugout? The sooner you get these guys out we can go take care of business with them." Wood proceed to strike the guy out one and crusied throught the rest of the game. He also told one about Maddux. Said Maddux was on the mound one time and grabbed his groin after throwing a pitch. He went to check on him and Maddux said "Gracie, stand in front of me." Grace asks if Maddux is allright and then he realizes that Maddux's problem is that he is experiencing a hightened state of arousal. Grace says, "Man, you must really love to pitch." Seriously I would love to see Grace at a bar one night just to hear him drunk and tell some of his stories.
  9. I would be so happy :-). Not to mention their teams would be #1 and #2 preseason IMO.
  10. stupid aggie voters trying to overload it.
  11. NPOY should be Durant, no questions asked. No doubt. Can I say Tucker should be NPOY over durant, if you all recognize that I am a die hard badger basketball fan? But..... if the Badgers, without Butch still go to the final four, and texas doesnt, I think Tucker should get it. right now though.... Durant is.... amazing doesnt cover it. You can, I just don't think you have much of an arguement. The freshman has put up better numbers than the 5th year senior leading a team starting 4 true freshman and 1 sophmore.
  12. I remember a few teams in the 2002 World Cup had tight jerseys (Italy for sure and one of the African teams though there were probably a couple more) to prevent their opponents from grabbing the jersey. But those didn't look anywhere near as bad as these do. and to make it easy for the ref to spot. They looked decent in soccer, but those are awful. Bryant Reeves also comes to mind in not wanting those jerseys to ever see the light of day.
  13. One of my favorite vidoes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWzQn-FpEOU
  14. One of my dreams is to create an adult rated Sports Channel. One where cursing is not only allowed, but encouraged. Having very biased announcers cheer for their teams while broadcasting the games (one for each team during the game), and letting them get into it with each other if needed. All press conferences are unedited too, unless in the men's locker room.
  15. Yep, the only team they've played in two months is Gonzaga, who they barely beat. And Gonzaga was just discussed as a team not worthy of an at large. I wonder where they get seeded. I agree on Memphis. But they will be at least a 2-seed simply because they will breeze thru their conference tourney, while teams like Wisconsin, UNC, Texas A &M, Texas, and others all have to get thru other top 15 teams in order to win their conference tourney. 1's- Ohio St, UCLA, Florida, Kansas 2's- Memphis, Texas A &M, Wisconsin, Georgetown (because I think they win the conf tourney) 3's- Washington St., Louisville, UNC, Maryland (because I think they win the conf tourney) 4's- Texas, So. Illinois, Nevada, Marquette (because they go further than Pitt or ND in the tourney) I doubt UNC drops to a three, unless they bow out in thier first game of the ACC tourney. I'd probably swap them w/ Gtown in your seedings. Also, if Texas goes to the Big XII championship game (which would require they beat A&M), I think they'll be a 3 seed. If Texas could win it I could see them moving up to a #2 seed.
  16. It's amazing how quickly I've gone from very optimistic about the Titans to hoping we have some talent around Vince next year. EDIT: Oh by the way, we broke the bank today and signed Kerry Collins. Watch out Indy, the division is ours. ](*,) Vince doesn't need any help
  17. Wednesday has Man U-Lille on ESPN2 and Bayern/Real Madrid on Classic. I really like the Barcelona/Liverpool choice. Barca is going to come out firing because they have to win - much like their final group stage match against Werder Bremen. I would have preferred Munich/Madrid on ESPN2 for Wednesday over the Man U game. Gerrard will take over.
  18. As I said, the announcers came off as total Duke homers. I wanted to see Hansbrough go ape on Henderson. Woulda loved that. Its not like this has not been happening for 5+ years or anything? Duke should be no higher than a 5 seed.
  19. Texas and Kansas play today at 11 for the #1 seed in the Big 12 tourney. Regardless of the game, if Texas can win the Big 12 tourney, I think they will jump to a #2 seed. Today should be great, but it will be tough to beat Kansas at home.
  20. Matsuzaka pitched well against college kids :-)
  21. How about an off-season with Cuban buying the Cubs and Arod signing through FA. Could you imagine what the Convention would be like next year should those things happen before it.
  22. Hopefully Kentucky can go on a run and avoid firing Tubby Smith. I don't like the rumors that they will go after Rick Barnes should that happen. Barnes finally has this program on the verge of becoming an Elite program, leaving now would not be good. Plus it would kill that 10% chance that Durant stays for one more year.
  23. thought it was at 5 central. couldn't get off work till then anyways.
  24. I didn't see who was going #1. Vlad. Damn oh well :-)
  25. If I'm an NFL GM and he's not working out after his recent slide, it makes me think he's got something to hide. This could cost him lots of money, but I guess if he slides he'll end up going to a better overall team most likely. better team means he has even less chance of seeing the field any time soon If I was him I would not even want to go #1 and get stuck going to the Raiders
