  1. Like a Cowboys fan arguing NFL. swing and a miss at least the Cowboys have more than one season to brag about Wasn't the HBO TV show "Oz" based on the Dallas Cowboys? And yet, the Cowboys still don't have as many NFL Championship/Super Bowl victories as either the Packers (BOOOOO) or the Bears. 12 and 8 respectively. Wow impressive statement. Cowboys have only been around since 1960, and have won a Championship 1 every 9.4 years. Packers 1 every 7.3 and the Bears have 9 Championships 1 every 9.7 years. The Cubs have equally as many WS Championships as the Marlins, is that equally as impressive?
  2. I think Texas has to win out all the way to the finals of the Big 12 tourney to lock a #1 seed. While that is very possible I think it is more likely they will finish with a #2 seed. Plus I don't want to play UCLA again ;-).
  3. Did you enjoy KSU's time in the driver's seat for the regular season title ;-).
  4. I would be more than ok with Soriano Derosa Fuku Lee Aramis Soto Pie/Fuld/ect Theriot I don't prefer to have Soriano at the top, but will settle for that.
  5. Good news for Texas :-). Plus a good week now with a 1 game lead over Kansas and 2 game lead over K-State. After peaking very early in the season, they are on another good run now while playing real good defense. A win over KState on Monday should put them very close the regular season title.
  6. I missed it live, but I'm quite glad that FSC decided not to show the gruesome angles that they had. They only replayed the original shot as it happened and you couldn't really see it. Needless to say I probably won't be watching that video. They said it looked really bad, though. haven't watched, nor will i, i have a weak stomach for sports injuries. fsc showed wegner after the match and he was irate about the tackle and injury. That makes two of us. The little kid hitting the dad in the nuts with a wiffle ball bat is funny. Broken legs, ankles, arms, is flat out gross. Theisman comes to mind, but Henrik Larsson's injury around 8 years ago takes the cake for me on worst injuries I remember ever seeing. The reactions I have read make it sound horrible, while I am curious I will not watch it. Wenger was flat out pissed. It sounds like his career is in serious jeapordy with the double compound fracture in which he has already had surgery on. He had to be given morphine and oxygen on the pitch before even being carried away.
  7. Have we even heard a word from Murton this entire offseason. He doesn't come across as the guy who would complain about much. I would love to see him as the 4th OF, but if he is able to be given an every day chance somewhere else and we are able to get real value I won't complain. I would prefer Murton stayed a Cub all season though.
  8. Texas takes game 1 6-2. Being that they have lost I think the last two years on opening day to San Diego State I am happy. Kyle Russell goes 0-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs, and 0 K's Jordan Danks also 0-2. Preston Clark goes 2-3 with 4 rbi's Where does Preston Clark rank among catchers this year.
  9. I would think that the multimillion dollar architechs who drew that up are more than aware of tropical storms. Its really no different than the Marlins getting hit. With that said I really like the stadium. I think it would fit the town and the culture very well. Its like a larger version of a fancy minor league stadium.
  10. Well you answered my question. I was going to ask if they were good friends.
  11. I'm trying to figure out who I want to really go watch against FC Dallas. I want to see LA to some degree simply because of the manes they have, but that is losing interest each day. Outside of that I guess NY to see Jozy in what is hopefully his last season in MLS.
  12. I get such terrible radio service in my dorm. DId he say anything of interest? Not really. Says he loves playing with DeRo but it's win/win whether he's paired with Roberts or DeRosa. Obviously it takes time for middle infielders to develop a rapport, blah blah. Said he took a ton of swings this off-season in order to be a more consistent hitter next year. Nothing earth shattering or new, really. What are his thoughts on riding the bench while Derosa starts at SS and Roberts at 2nd. Someone needs to get him on the juice.
  13. That sucks. Still think Arsenal have a good chance of coming out but a result today would have been very nice.
  14. I'm at work so going just by game cast but it seems Arsenal are controling the tempo which bodes well for them and their style of play. Would be great to get Pato another yellow  . Milan would be so old if it were not for Pato and Kaka. Arsenal has been doing most of the attacking and Milan hasn't done much outside of a few counter attacks. As I type this, Arsenal is really picking it up on offense. They appear on the verge of putting one in. Tied up now in Scotland. And Lyon just took a 1-0 lead on Man U in France. Messi again 3-2 Barca. Between Messi, C. Ronaldo, Fabregas there are some really good young players. Ronaldo is a full 3 years older than them too. As I am typing Tevez ties it up for Man U. United with the away goal is huge right now.
  15. But Carr's halftime sideline reports were priceless. You knew the reporter knew she/he was screwed from the begining.
  16. Over in Scotland, Barca have controled the possession 71-29%, have outshot Celtic 11-3, and are down 2-1 at the half. I still don't think Celtic have a shot in hell in beating them in the 2 game agg. but still a very interesting result.
  17. I'm at work so going just by game cast but it seems Arsenal are controling the tempo which bodes well for them and their style of play. Would be great to get Pato another yellow  . Milan would be so old if it were not for Pato and Kaka.
  18. Its hard to tell what to expect from Texas, but sounds like they could almost be better next year or the year after. I am less confident about the pitching than I have been in years past.
  19. Can't give up one now.
  20. If he played for Arsenal I would agree, I simply have a man crush on him :D
  21. Stevie G is simply amazing
  22. Hup Holland!!! Kuyt seems to have that knack for scoring goals like that.
  23. Crouch looks like a good fit the way this game is going.
  24. Torres should have put Liverpool up. Now Hyphia too. Liverpool has to score.
  25. He has to actually pitch before I begin to hate him. With that said I don't see him help the Cards above a 4th place finish.
