  1. Pansies. I'm not a fan of either team, but that game is usually a heck of a lot more entertaining than most opening weekend garbage. Why not play 1 quality non-con opponent? I understand losing a home game hurts, but come on, give the fans a show. I like the whole 1/2 and 1/2 crowd thing in the border city, too. Until some sort of rule is made, no one is going to play anybody OOC. Outside of traditional rivalries, only Ohio State (give them some credit even though they have 8 home games every year) and USC seem interested in playing ANYONE outside their conference. The UT-OSU home and home was fun. I would like to see Texas and TCU go at it once, though TCU has a tough time getting people to schedule them also. Still with the BCS setup the way it is OCC is not real important for anyone in a major conference, especially if there is a ton a parity in the Big XII and SEC.
  2. OK, it's not. I shudda said beat? That kid that pitched 12 no hit innings in relief DEFINATELY is in the discussion! When the winningest college coach in history says its the best performance he has ever seen it should take notice. 12.1 no hit innings is incredible to begin with.
  3. Its more fun going for the low score and seeing which pitcher can tank the worse.
  4. I would probably say that Monfils is going to be a decent favorite to win this one. He can run down any shot and a real good on clay. Of course if Roddick has his serve going he can win with almost that alone. Either way this is probably going to be a long match. They had a special yesterday morning on Chang being the 20 year anniversary from him winning the French and his match vs. Lendl which is still one of the greatest ever up there with Sampras throwing up, and Connors making the semi's in the US Open when he was like 45 it seemed like.
  5. Slightly less gah. Spain is going to be scary good for a long long time.
  6. The USC thing is annoying only because of how obvious it is and the NCAA needing USC.
  7. Hi-Def camara's in Costa Rica are sure to be stolen. I hope they are ready for this game, it is one that I am worried about.
  8. I could really care less about getting Derosa back, its not like he is going to come back and start hitting great again just because he is with the Cubs. I would rather ask Pitt. for Freddie Sanchez.
  9. Bring back Roenick and win it all next year.
  10. Sweet, an early goal could open this match up a lot.
  11. Can we just draft a prospect with a BB:K close to 1.
  12. Unbelievable finish so far. Always fun to watch Memorial Day Weekend.
  13. I am guessing cause of Title IX. I keep waiting for Texas A&M - Corpus Christi to become a solid program every year. The one year they were very good, they were still on probation as a new program and not eligible for postseason play.
  14. In probably 2-3 years TB will be #1 on that list.
  15. I wonder what Stern thinks about a potential Magic-Nuggets final. Its almost enough for him to have refs start fixing games again.
  16. Sad but true. Cool to see Wolfsburg and AZ Alkmaar win it as well.
  17. That took two posts longer than expected. Ironically from a guy called "THe voice of Reason". Why do people assume that Derosa would be hitting just as well as last season if he was still with the Cubs?
  18. Cabrera also spent parts of 4 seasons in the minors, and over 1400 ab's. I don't care about his age compared to Cabrera, Miggy had a ton of experience compared to Vitters. Something he can't learn at the HS level. If the Cubs did bring him up it would stunt his actual growth and in all likelihood set him back even further.
  19. For all we know this could be happening. Axelrod mentions on the podcast that since December everything has been much more private. There is discussions right now but it will not be publicized. Who knows if those discussions are with the Cubs or not, but one thing Im sure of is none of know for sure what is going on behind the scenes. God knows Hendry isnt doing anything else worthwhile. It sounded very much like Peavy didn't want the trade talks to be so public and didn't like that Towers was using the media as leverage. Something Hendry also didn't like and was detrimental to the Cubs.
  20. This is cool, even if you hate the Cowboys. They said though it is 90 feet off the ground. For some reason that sounds really low to me when a punt is going to occur. http://www.dallasnews.com/video/dallasnews/hp/index.html?nvid=364036&stry
  21. I was really hoping to see Durant and Griffin play together.
  22. Anyone ever bet on hockey before?
  23. I wouldn't call them dumb anymore, they have put together a farm system and base of young talent that I would kill for. Just because they put it together doesn't mean they won't trade it like a bunch of idiots. John Danks for Brandon McCarthy, Gonzalez for pretty much nothing, even Volquez for Hamilton looks bad because their pitching has sucked forever. I would still trade Volquez for Hamilton regardless of their pitching. They were too quick to give up their minor league pitching before, but since Ryan took over as President that has seemed to change.
  24. I see Strasburg is already available on waivers and listed with Washington. Interesting CBS makes that move without him even being officially drafted yet or signed a contract. When is the next minor league draft for us? Is it right after the actual amateur draft considering he could pitch this year?
