  1. I just had to rewind it to figure out what the hell was going on. Mexico is turning into a complete joke.
  2. I would think the fans would go after El Tri first. CONCACAF have the worst refs. In the MEX/PAN game, he just showed red to two players-the Panamanian literally didn't do a thing. Gio Dos Santos freaked out and kicked out at him and shoved him, he backed up and put his hands out, and the ref showed him, and a different Mexican player-not Dos Santos-red. Horrible and hilarious. If the US wins just tell him to stay off the subway afterwards. Actually if he is really white, just tell him to avoid that to begin with.
  3. The US/Mexico qualifier will start at 3pm Central Time on that Wednesday. Thats a f'ed up time for a Wed.
  4. Those are a slight upgrade over the Crew.
  5. I heard that as well, they actually said that he called a cab to take him home while she was being arrested.
  6. I think he prefers the smaller market, just seems to have that kind of personality. I wonder if the Rangers would consider trying for him. They certainly have the prospects for him, and would put them as the clear front runner in the West. I just don't know if they are willing to part with their prospects. I do think Nolan Ryan would like to have a legit #1 over Millwood should they make the playoffs.
  7. I think he will over the next 12 months, maybe just not before the deadline. That division is so tough, if they can get 4 legit prospects for him then why not. If you know he won't leave after his contract then maybe look at keeping him.
  8. I don't trade him to any team without getting their very best prospect if thats who I want. Whose to say thats not whats going to happen? Ricciardi has made it perfectly clear that it will have to be a great deal to pry him away, and despite the thread title, hes not all but gone from Toronto. Whoever gets Halladay gets one of the best and the most underrated pitcher in the game today for 1.5 years, and the package will probably have to exceed those for Sabathia, Holiday, and Bedard. And thats the thing, he doesn't have to trade him now. He can wait until the offseason or until next year. If its going to happen, he might as well start getting some info back from other teams. With Peavy on the shelf, the market for a #1 is pretty much dead. Personally I would take him over Sabathia, Peavy, and just about anyone else out there. He is one guy I am not concerned about his innings total over the past couple of years.
  9. He looks like a kid that you don't want to F with.

    Golf

How can someone not like Phil Mickelson? He's the Jimi Hendrix of golf. Jimi was left handed and learned to play a right handed guitar upside down. Phil is right handed and golfs left handed because he would destroy the field if he actually played right handed. I hate watching lefties play golf. It looks so unnatural to me. Lefty batters don't bother me the same way though...I don't know why. Most of the golf pro's i have spoken to love left handed swings over right handed, just saying its a nice swing. Don't know why, just what I have heard. Heard the same in baseball too though.
  12. And apparently Vela isn't going to be ready...ever. If Adebayor is gone, they should go after Huntelaar. I would love that. Actually I would prefer to sell Adebayor and bring in Huntelaar. I want to see them healthy and play like they did in 2007 before they ran out of gas.
  13. van Persie is staying at Arsenal. Still wondering if Adebayor is out the door. I'm fine with Van Persie and Arshavin being up front but they need some depth.
  14. ive seen you. and she is, at the very least, good enough for you creepy. but she killed steve mcnair, so my instincts to avoid her and her hooknose would've been a good move. she looked like she was high maintenance and crazy. I would say she is below the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zdGBL0PhJE&feature=related
  15. Are there any other Nationals to even choose from?
  16. 10/5. He probably realizes the Canadian $ is worth more than the American and its worth staying an extra year and a half ;-).
  17. I'm guessing if anything happens with the Ricketts bid (doesn't get 75% of owners vote), he has the Utay bid to fall back on. Just a guess, but at least this way if anything fell through he is ready to move on to the next one.
  18. They will trade him... some time before FA begins in 2010. The offer will have to be big, bigger than the Peavy offer.
  19. All the other NFL players that are so faithful to their wives are really going to look down on him now. If you are a pro athlete in your late 30's and sleeping around, why not go for a 20 year old? Just go after one that actually hot.
  20. Even though it will have no impact, 4 games is harsh for that. How many games did Drogba get after the semifinal loss?
  21. I thought so too, but I bet that was a Nike thing and not Federer's idea. I'd almost guarantee it was a Nike thing. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who would suggest doing something like that. IIRC, the TV person had to point it out during the on-court interview after he got his trophy and he just kind of said "Oh yeah" and not much else when she asked him about the jacket and if there was a 15 on the back of it. I think if it was his idea, he would not only have pointed it out but have said more about it than he did. He still wore the damn thing. Who cares where the idea originated? He doesn't have to dress like a jackass. A 10 year, $130 million contract could say otherwise. I'll dress like a jackass every day of the week for that.
  22. He got a 3 year deal too. 8-) Wow didn't see this coming. I'm glad to see this over him playing in Turkey.
  23. this isn't breaking news. douche bag alert would have been more appropriate.
  24. I'm sorry for your impending losses. Thoughts and prayers. Unless its a Redwing. I put this in the golf thread earlier, really sucks for him right now. Luckily treatment has come a long way over the past 20 years, hopefully they caught it early enough.
  25. the glove barely missed jeter's hand, it's not an awful call. it's only an awful call if you're sitting at home on the computer watching the replay in slow motion 10 times. The call is not awful, just the explanation of it from the ump. My problem is if he said that, then it probably really is how he called it. It was a split second reaction, I am guessing he the ump told the truth to Jeter and didn't say that just to piss him off. Anyways I am glad it happened to Jeter as it should be looked at and umps need to be held to a higher level of scrutiny. I am tired of the pissy ump who does no wrong and is above everyone else.
