  1. I don't think there's a chance it'd be half empty. If Ole MIss/Texas Tech in a meaningless game could pull 88,000, then Florida/Ga Tech for a chance to advance to the semi-finals of the playoffs would draw that many or more. Bowls are events. It's the final game of the year, it's an exotic locale, it "means something" even if it really doesn't. Do you think a lot of NFL fans spend money to go see their team on the road in the divisional playoffs? Outside of the BCS championship game, the bowls have no meaning. If the bowls were tied into a championship run, they would immediately gain far more relevance than they currently have. Most bowl sites right now are only partially full because they don't mean anything. Sorry, but the Rose Bowl has meaning. The Rose Bowl, Big Ten, and Pac Ten wouldn't go for it. Neither should have an opinion until they both decide to add a Conference Championship at the end of the regular season.
  2. The AL/NL rotation currently has the AL hosting the ASG in 2014... This should qualify for a special exception. To make it up to the AL we will give them the Brewers back. Screw the AL over twice? :) It should be more than that for letting them have the stupid "DH".
  3. I just want a 4 team playoff, teams play in bowls like always. Rotate the 4 BCS games each year as the two Semi-Final games, then the 5th as the BCS Championship game. It doesn't require anything different than adding 1 extra week for the teams that win the semi game.

  5. He should have been wearing his Hooters outfit.
  6. For the 100 year anniversary of Wrigley. I can't foresee any reason why they would not get it. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4608426
  7. An 8 team playoff would be really good this year.
  8. As for Texas they are pretty much bringing most everyone back outside of Abrams, had maybe the 2nd best class behind Kentucky (Jordas Hamilton and Avery Bradley) and a transfer of Jai Lucas from U of Florida. Damion James and Dexter Pittman should be very good this season too.
  9. Except that Kyle Blanks is just not an outfielder. They should trade Gonzalez to Boston for however much young talent they can get and give Blanks the job at 1b. Seems like the most logical thing to do. Epstein has a buddy in the NL that he can help, but can also help him now too. If you can get three good prospects for him, move Blanks to 1st, and then sign a big FA with that money they would be much better off. I don't know San Diego, but Gonzalez doesn't come across as being a guy any fan would be very attached too.
  10. I think its harsh, but I am glad he is out this weekend :-).
  11. In my mind they are the team to beat in the West. McDyess and Blair are going to be big help for them inside and Jefferson will fit in. If they stay relatively healthy I have them ahead of the Lakers. Spurs/Cavs final Blair was the one I was really excited about. He won't see a lot of playing time this year, but he is the type of body they need in the middle and a lot of energy.
  12. I wonder if Bob Stoops can do an evaluation on him? He could be ready by next week then.
  13. I'm very curious about this Spurs team. Good offseason, and a good draft. If healthy they should be right there with the Lakers.
  14. Especially based on potential. He needs to sit a year as the backup, but no teams are going to pass him up unless they have no need to draft a QB.
  15. Very good news. I don't think it was really a distraction for him, but it must be nice to have it out of the way. He might be celebrating at The Lodge tonight.
  16. Yeah he did on a nice TD run.
  17. Maybe Pujlos doesn't know how to inject himself?
  18. Why choose? Game long decided by 10:30 or 11, show up fashionably late to the parties (which normally start around 10 here - I can't speak for other schools). Watch game at party? The only person I know that would ever have college football games on at Halloween parties is typing this post. I can't remember the last time I went to a party where there was zero access to watching a sporting event if one was on. You ever been to a Lambda Lambda Lambda party?
  19. I would fire him for bad taste, looking at her brings down the ESPN brand image.
  20. If your looking for a +1, I can help teach you the Texas fight song ;-).
  21. I don't want to see TCU choke. I really want to see them vs. a major conference champion. Right now I think they are the 4th best team in the country, and capable of beating anyone. They would also put up a great game vs. Florida or Bama with their defense.
  22. Cable told Russell to throw his butt on the bench, but Russell missed.
  23. If they can manage to win 2 out of their next 3 they will be in great shape.
  24. Miles Austin with another TD.
