  1. Welcome to the board, bro! thanks, u like my terrible swing from the picture in my signature? That game they had a photographer taking pictures from the on deck circle and I hit a homer, that was the swing, kinda sad haha you're not gonna impress anyone with that swing, but if it got you a homer, way to go! :D seriously lol, i finished at like my hip, i was Jacque Jonesing it, but its gotten better, that was 2 years ago Haha that's good. I see you are sponsored by Ice Mountain, with that little water bottle in the corner. ya they gimme some cash for getting their bottles in my pictures, but they canceled the deal cuz of my injuy, i love knowing what mark prior feels like...the surgery blows, only 5 more months til i can throw, i assume the same for prior cuz we had the same injury and surgery and my surgery was the day after his. Better work on those mechanics.
  2. I would take a gamble on Josh Towers.
  3. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270519116 If we can't beat the snot out of a trashy reliever coming into a starting role, we don't deserve to make .500. To echo many many other posters: WIN YOU BUMS Masset is not that bad of a pitcher. He has the potential to be a real solid bullpen arm for the Sox in the future.
  4. That probably will not get it done, but I like the idea of adding Chad Cordero to the pen. It is going to take alot to get him.
  5. Good to see Howry coming in and throwing strikes.
  6. What a joke this was today. The Mets were playing their AAA lineup today and they still beat the Cubs. Everyone in the Cubs pen has control problems.
  7. The Cubs could use a guy in the pen who can just dominate hitters like Kerry has shown he can.
  8. Jacque for Dustin Moseley. Moseley would be a pretty good 5th starter for the Cubs. Then the Cubs could move Guzman to the pen where he would be more dominate in short roles.
  9. Um, Delgado is really struggling this year. Beltran is mashing. Walking Beltran is the way to go. Reyes scores from second on a single. It's not Lou's fault Wuertz couldn't throw strikes. Doesn't matter. With the bases loaded and the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, you have no margin for error. A wild pitch or passed ball, game over. A walk or HBP, game over. Any type of hit and the game is over. At least with runners on first and second, a WP/PB doesn't end the game. A BB/HBP doesn't end the game. An infield hit doesn't end the game. Even a hardhit ball to the outfield doesn't end the game (since the OF will likely be playing in in that situation for that very reason). Your margin for error is gone. I don't know about you, but I would rather have Beltran drive home the winning run with a hit than have Delgado get walked with the bases loaded. It was a bad idea to do that. Agreed. Wuertz already walked one guy that inning, so loading the bases where a walk could score a run wasn't the smartest thing to do. At least if you go after Beltran, a walk wouldn't have ended it. Just didn't really understand the strategy in that sequence. I think they were trying to go after Beltran, but when you fall behind 2-0 in the count to a guy like Beltran in a situation like that you have to be smart where you are going to throw your next pitch. I rather have Delgado try to beat you than Beltran in that situation. Delgado has struggled this year and Beltran has been hitting the ball really well so far.
  10. Meche is having a pretty good start to the year. 3-1 54.3 innings 14BB 42SO 2.15ERA 1.17WHIP He also has thrown 7 shutout innings tonight.
  11. Bowden is going to be a stud. I still remember hitting him with a pitch my junior year in high school.
  12. Z's mechanics have never been pretty (to put it mildly). Z always struggles when his arm level drops. All of his pitches flatting out when he does that. If he stays on top of the ball he gets the ball down zone and he gets more movement on those pitches.
  13. Probably will. Lefty Cole Hamels pitching, and it's not like we have anyone on the team who can play over him against a lefty. Oh boy. I'm predicting Hamels will have a 15+ strikeout game against us. I always thought the Cubs had a harder time hitting the soft tossing left handers than the gas throwing ones.
  14. How did you think Jeff Weaver was going to pitch this season? I was completely wrong on that. I will always have that Weaver fan in me.
  15. Jason Marquis has been pitching like how I expected him to pitch. It looks like he has regained that 04 form that he had.
  16. Another solid outing from Jason Marquis. He is pitching like a stud!!! =D> =D> =D> =D>
