  1. He'll go somewhere else and win a WS championship next year.
  2. I know what you are talking about but I just don't see the NCAA taking away the ACC's bid with some of the teams they now have.
  3. You are probably right there. They could be a factor for a long time if the Big East sustains there automatic BCS invitation.(Which they should lose but won't) The thing about WV is if they were in the SEC or ACC they are a 3 loss team easily.
  4. The bat, just look at the Cubs offence this year it is just horrid. Marshall and Marmol have gotten good Major League experience and have had some promising outings.
  5. Smith was a good RB who had excellent luck. Most average RB would have been Pro Bowlers with that team. With out the Cowboys of the '90's he has a good NFL career. With the Cowboys he is a Hall of Famer. Payton, Sanders, and Brown were the team. They achieved their yards with out the great supporting cast.
  6. Cubs stink this year. Must get excited about college football earlier then normal. Must bump so others respond. In heaven there is no beer.
  7. It was a good article but being it came from the bucknuts board it's kinda shows the pompous and arrogance of schools like that. Only one school wins a NC every year. There are at least 8 teams that are great every single year and another 15 that are pretty good. Comparing NC's is not a way to decide if there are more elite teams now. OSU didn't win a NC for like 34 years but they were considered elite between that time. There is parity but the top teams still have the advantage.
  8. I have to agree with you Tiger. So while were on the topic good luck to Chicken U. J/K
  9. My only ND game this year will be Stanford... Troy Smith, Chris Leak, Brian Brohm, Ginn, Michael Bush, Steve Slaton, Sam Keller and Pat White round out Fox Sports's top 10 Heisman candidates after Quinn and Peterson, but at least at the start of the season it looks to me like a two-horse race between the latter two unless Smith keeps up the form he exhibited at the Fiesta (not entirely likely because it won't get much easier than ND's 2005 secondary). I would even go so far as to consider Quinn the favorite solely because he's a quarterback. If both players put up great numbers, a quarterback is usually going to have the advantage over a running back. A QB's Heisman chances are wrapped up in the record of the team. With a team like ND if he loses more than one game I don't think Quinn wins it.
  10. Whoops, see I haven't completly given up on the Cubs. I still think of them doing something even if it is renaming the greatest trophy after them.
  11. Since this is one of the worst Cubs teams (record wise) I can remember ,I am looking forward to College Football a little earlier then I normally would. I have not given up on the Cubs but realistically I know they are garbage this year. I think my Iowa Hawkeyes could make some real noise this year. Although when it comes to my teams this is how I feel things will turn out at the beginning of every year: MLB: Cub win world series NBA: Bulls win the NBA title NHL: Minnesota Wild will win Stanley Cup NFL: Bears will win the Super Bowl NCAA BB: Iowa Hawkeyes will win the NCAA Championship NCAA FB: Iowa Hawkeyes will win the BCS National Championship So when it comes to my teams I am kink of an optimist as you can see. Well any way how do some of you think your CFB teams will do this year.
  12. Even before the All Star Break.
  13. I've said that pretty much since they hired him. But don't tell a Sox fan that.
  14. This one thread has more post then there whole Message Board.
  15. Exactly. I heard the replays on the radio on 3 different stations and only one beeped the word out. Never guess who that was. Heres a hint the company that owns them owns the Cubs.
  16. So what did he say in the interview?
  17. Probably cost less.
  18. Larry Bowa just seems like a guy that will get you to a certain point and that's it. But that point is miles ahead of where the Cubs are now.
  19. The Chicago Cubs are the only team in Sports period that gets ridiculed for people showing up to there games be it Cubs fans or oposing fans. Kind of strange. I see attendence next year to be like it was 5 years ago, Day weekday games only bottom level and bleachers will be sold out. While night and weekend games will be packed. Mid June to Mid August probably will be packed also during day games. (Summer Vacations)
  20. In all honestly after the first he wasn't that bad. {Must stop being optimistic.} In reality he looked terrible.
  21. I hope this poll was there earlier in the season and those people voting yes are from then. If not they are just idiots.
  22. I made a comment today "When did Prior turn into Rusch"
  23. Kind of off the beaten path of this thread. But here it goes any way. I went to the game today and when Prior was warming up he was throwing a towel. I found it kinda comical. Has to be comical or else it's just sad.
  24. Sure do. THe guy actually proposed a trade to get Capuano back for Gagne.
