    Exactly. No point in rushing him back. This season is already in the toilet. He should take his time coming back. No, no, you're wrong! Lee comes back, and Pierre will magically become a great leadoff hitter, everyone will get hits with RISP, Kerry Wood will be cured, Mark Prior will regain his old form, and we'll make the playoffs!

    From todays Sun-Times: I'm really starting to wonder if baseball players ever exercise. Sore from playing 1st base? That's pretty ridiculous. . Unreal...but then look at Nevin. Not a picturesque physique!

    Can you just imagine what a laughingstock this organization would be if that happened? Good lord........ Are you serious? We're already the laughing stock of MLB. Even the Royals have recently made moves to their organization. I'm certain that we already are. However, if Dusty is extended, it'll be even more so.

    Hopefully that means that the rumors of him already having a deal are not true. No, it probably just means he won't be announcing it right now, because the Cubs didn't win 3 games in a row. As soon as they do (and they will, sometime), he will be officially extended. Extending Dusty with the team 15 games under 500 would be flat out embarrassing. Can you just imagine what a laughingstock this organization would be if that happened? Good lord........

    Don't forget the acquisition of Luis Salazar. He came in and hit over .300 and delivered some huge hits. So naturally, the Cubs brought him back where he predictably regressed to his career norms. I don't think there was ever a pitch that Luis didn't want to swing at. But, boy, he sure was versatile! . Ah, Luis Salazar....he loved the head-high pitch! But he'd nail it!
