I just got back from a great weekend in Cincy...and an incredible game last night with Z pitching! Friday night I had dinner at the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse, and heard the fireworks going off at GAB...and I thought, uh-oh, Maddux is getting shelled. Got back to my hotel room (the Millineum, which was a nice short 15 minute walk from the ballpark) and saw that the Cubs won his start. The next night was my game! I wish the weather had been nicer, as it rained all day long (spent the bulk of the rainy day at the Newport Aquarium...not as nice as the Shedd, but not bad) I was sitting in the lower deck left field area, in section 103, which HAD to have been designated for Cubs fans! I was surrounded by them..and it was GREAT! We were treated to a great game of Carlos ball, and I even got to see Juan Pierre and Neifury get hits. And the best at bat was by Walker in the 7th to load the bases. When Yan came in, I thought to myself, he's terrible, and Barrett is likely to get ahold of one. Well, there it went, and Barrett's homerun hit the wall RIGHT above us in the seats! We were going wild, and drowning out any Reds fans who happened to be around us. Even in the rain, the game was enjoyable. And the park itself is great, not a bad seat in the house. I knew Rocket was at the game, and I looked for him, but alas, nowhere to be seen! Great weekend, and I must say, the Cincy fans were great, too.
