  1. slg .545 Like I said....I like the platoon.
  2. 2B platoon has gone well but I fear that Baker will cool off and the league will figure out Barney. Good to see the BB last night from Barney though (not to mention a nice triple with the runner on the move). I especially liked the way that Byrd was taking all the way after the 4 pitch walk to the previous AB (Barney). Made Figueroa prove that he can throw a strike before swinging. Excellent patience there although the AB ended with a GO.
  3. Not nearly as much as Brewer fans will hate Prince Fielder when he defects to the Cubs. It really is the reasonable option over 10 years of Pujols. Agreed
  4. Honest question here....why does everyone hate Ryan Braun (other than the fact that he's a very productive Brewer)?
  5. What? He was horrible last year. An ERA over 8 as a starter with a WHIP around 2. He was slightly better in the bullpen but not much. He had three starts, one of which he went 6 with 3 earned runs and 10 k's. The other two starts were 3ip 5er, 4ip and 4er. Those numbers are pretty bad and I think the first start is more prominent in my mind. However, he only has three starts under his belt and everyone is writing the guy off. I'd like to see he and Coleman get called up for a couple starts.
  6. What do you have against Diamond? He did alright last year in limited starts. Why not give him a shot?
  7. If they bring him back I will kick a kitten.
  8. Confirmation: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/sports/cbsports-cubs-putting-wells-cashner-on-dl-20110406,0,4120671.story?track=rss Both pitchers will be shutdown for 10-14 days and reevaluated.
  9. Where did you get this information? Mild rotator strain is somewhat of a relief anyway. WTF is with Wells?
  10. I am sick of Samardzija. Another crappy outing with poor control. Gotta think he has a pretty short leash this year.
  11. Russel is still pitching. Crap, I missed that Russell pitched in the previous inning. Sorry. My bad.
  12. With Pena, Soto and Johnson on the bench....why did a reliever take an AB? Even Z would have been a better choice. This irritates the hell outta me. WTF??
  13. A walk does not a zone make (I kid, I kid - I'm loving the patience)
  14. If his season ends with 1 win, I kick a kitten.
  15. (not watching) Any indication on the injury? elbow? shoulder?
  16. Any idea how Colvin is doing at 1B? I see no errors, has he had any tough plays?
  17. Vehemently disagree. What would I do with all my spare time?
  18. If by giving up 5 baserunners in 2 games is a beast, then, yeah, he's a beast. They better win this one because Marmol and Wood will be unavailable tomorrow. Probably Marshall too if Quade wants any of them to last past Memorial Day. Samardzija for closer tomorrow! Wood != beast so far this season

  20. Saw that Al Albuquerque was signed by the Tigers and added to the 40 man. After a rough spring he was sent to the minors to work on his control. http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/majors/organization-reports/detroit-tigers/2011/2611495.html
  21. they're legumes I'll give you my telescope for them... Kudos for the Office reference. The best part of that episode was Jim wheeling out the larger/grown plants after Dwight left. I fear the show will change with Carrell (sp?) leaving but it still makes me laugh.
  22. Garza is throwing beachballs apparently
  23. It was a fading brand IMO. They needed to expand to become more relevant and they needed cash to expand. AB stepped up with the cash. Goose was "ok" as a niche supplier but attempts beyond that were poor at best. I'm indifferent really.
