    Honestly, I don't think there is any basis for Turris to get suspended. He may have been running his mouth, but that's all he did until he got a knuckle sandwich. Then it was just a fight. Versteeg clearly escalated it from trash talk to a fight. If that's grounds for a suspension, which I don't think it is, then he might be in trouble.

    I posted a link to the fight a few posts back. You have to watch a few times, but Turris initiated the fight... then Versteeg even had Coyotes player at his back about halfway through... looks like Byf pulled one away or that could have gotten really ugly. This is from the Sun-Times' gamer: This is what I suspected happened. Turris was running his yap and Versteeg popped him. I'm still concerned that he's gonna get suspended, because he clearly escalated it into a fight.

    Versteeg totally instigated that fight by jabbing Turris in the yap and both were throwing wildly. It looked like Turris landed more punches on the linesman than he did on Versteeg. I agree with UM, the blowout is obviously most important but the fights that follow are just as entertaining. What can you say? Great effort on both ends. Huet never tested, but he did at least manage to look like an NHL goalie tonight. Still had one bad misplay behind his net. Great game by Ladd. Would have liked to have seen Eager get the hat trick. He almost seems like this year's Buff.

    It's still so surprising and new to get to root for a Hawks team with so much offensive talent. I swear during the dark ages (the last 5-10 years) they went weeks without scoring a goal as pretty as 6 or 7 they've scored in the last 24 hours. These are just incredibly skilled guys and you can tell they have a lot of fun making the other teams' defenseman and goalies look silly. Bryzgalov is a good goalie, and he's really stood no chance tonight. So far.

    Sopel has a playoff beard. Yes he does, and it's a substandard effort.

    ...And we're graced with Huet in goal again tonight. Outstanding. Love that promo CSN just showed for the Ottawa game. Tune in as the Hawks try to veto the Senators! Veto? They're not playing the Buffalo Bills! :D

    By the way, this doesn't prove that the BCS standings were correct as relates OU and UT. Texas annihilated Mizzou too. And that was probably a better and more confident MU team than the one Oklahoma is playing tonight.

    Damn. God I hate Detroit. I know it's a broken record, but Huet put this team in a 2-0 hole and it cost them the game. The guy is showing ZERO improvement. People were saying he just needed to play several games in a row to get into the flow of things. That happened, and it didn't help. So, what do we get tomorrow night? Crawford? If I'm Q, that's my play.

    He took a one year deal to play for Detroit. It's really amazing. He could've gotten a massive contract elsewhere.

    No doubt. It's always good to get a point against the top teams in the league, but they must start getting these extra points. How 'bout a HT for Toews??????

    Defense was terrible a second ago not picking up the trailer. They had three guys back to cover. Everybody just went down to the net.
