  1. I assume it was the derby winner? He's like a midget James Carville on uppers.
  2. Great game so far, though I'm having trouble watching it because it's not in HD. Cards play on NBC here on Sundays, and they bump whatever else is on to some local channel that doesn't broadcast in HD. Cards rained out. Still no HD hockey. Crap.

    Trade

I like Hart a lot more than Harang, but it wouldn't be the most nuts trade ever if he needs pitching and has OF to spare. Harang was pretty darn fantastic prior to last year. He's also been pretty darn fantastic this year at times. It's tough to gauge whether or not he's back to his old ways or still trying to break out of his crappy ways. Personally, if it's the former, I think he's worth more than Corey Hart. I would've considered the Maggs trade. Unless you need SB and he made the most sense. I just don't like Corey Hart as a fantasy player. Sure he'll hit 20HR and steal 20 bases, but it's sporadic. It's never enough consistently throughout the year to warrant starting him every day. Personally I would've considered the Maggs trade, but that's just me. He's not gonna hit .240 the rest of the year, and he's consistently put up a .300AVG or better (.298 in 06) 20+HR and 100+RBI the past three seasons. I guess what it boils down to is whether or not steals are your priority here. Steals are a priority. He actually declined Hart for Harang now, and is asking for Peavy instead. He's pumping up Hart as a 30-30 guy. I just don't see that. 20-20 maybe, but not 30-30. I'm in the position of strength here, so I'm just going to wait this out. You should counter with your worst player and see how he likes it. Corey Hart has about as much chance as going 30-30 as I do Haha, I know. He's an old friend, but I've told him he's full of crap on this one.
  4. Pretty solid analysis by Sassone, and I like his sort-of prediction: http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1920 If Salo is out, that's huge. The offense is going to come out flying at home.
  5. I'm still excited about this too. Can't wait for Tuesday night, especially with the small chance that I will be there in person. Haven't been to a Hawks home game since December 2001. It was a game against Detroit. And we lost 5-0. I know we have a better chance of beating Anaheim than Detroit if we get to the conference finals, but I still want Detroit. I think our skill guys can poke a lot of holes in Osgood. But first things first. I think the Hawks take Game 3. They'll get amazing energy from the home crowd. Then hold onto Game 4 and you're set. I think I was at that game in Dec of 2001. Was it like 2 days before Christmas or New Years. Federov was a one man show? It was just a couple days before Christmas. 12/21, or something like that. Honestly I don't remember who did what for the Wings. I just remember it being terrible. And the stands were overrun with your kind. Made me sick.
  6. Bieksa is a punk. Mitchell too. O'Brien is behaving himself more than I expected. Burrows? Who punches a guy in the face with his gloves on? What a pansy. Sure doesn't take long for teams (and their respective fans) to get a good hatred going, does it?
  7. He would get at least 50/50. Don't they split purses based on projected draw of each fighter? Manny might be the better fighter (arguable), but there is no question that Mayweather is a bigger PPV draw in the U.S. From what I read the other day, Mayweather will fight JMM in July to set up for the mega-fight. I would guess it would be in early December.

  9. There we no calls, I checked. That's absolutely ridiculous.
  10. Bieksa needs at least a minor for that. Sharp did absolutely nothing to encourage him.
  11. Bolland absolutely bent Luongo over. A beautiful thing.
  12. Keith and Seabs have looked shaky this period. Goes without saying, we can't have that.
  13. You're on fire tonight, bro. :)
  14. BOOYAH! 5-on-2.5, they had to score there.
  15. That was pretty wicked. He clearly just lost an edge. No intent there. But I like it.
  16. Cyno, you just got your wish. Holy [expletive].
  17. reverse jinx. Please say they aren't going to score again.
  18. Didn't see any reason for hope from the end of the period. Man I'd love for them to shut those people up.
  19. Pretty obvious takedown in front of Luongo there.
  20. Kane was probably too patient there. Play is improving now.
