  1. I'm thinking this may be the night we are up all night with a long OT.
  2. It seemed to me from the bar that the Hawks missed a ton of golden chances over the first two periods. Now I'm wasted and I'm going to jump off my roof if the Hawks lose tohis game.
  3. You think that matters to him? Clearly not. I've always hated the guy, so his legacy can't go any lower for me. And perhaps he's one of those guys who just doesn't care about his legacy.
  4. It's better than them playing, but after what happened the other night it's hard for me to be excited about this news.
  5. If he agrees to come back now, there will be pressure to show up to at least one offseason workout. He can't have that. Look for him to return in the middle of training camp, right when two-a-days start to decrease. That's exactly what I was thinking. Or at least in mid July, when all the boring OTAs and such are over. I know it's fun to speculate he would do this, but hasn't he really jumped the shark at this point if he even starts to talk comeback again sometime this summer? Clearly he doesn't care what we say about him, but come on. It's beyond ridiculous now. If rumors start to surface again later this summer, ugh.
  6. Man the Pirates suck.
  7. Fan voting is stupid. I know why they do it, but they shouldn't.
  8. No Favre in Minny. For now. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AtrjacNU.UauDfEhIJzH0ho5nYcB?slug=ys-favre050709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

  10. http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/commishs-hot-stove/commishs-hot-stove/cardinal-beat-updates/2009/05/cardinals-dl-rick-ankiel-want-full-strength-bench/ Meet the newest out-of-nowhere Cards phenom, Shane Robinson.
  11. Kevin Orie, man is that an almost obscure reference to this generation. I loved him for at least two games Don't make me feel old. I seem to recall Gary Scott hitting a huge grand slam when I was about 14 and thinking he was going to be the greatest thing to hit the Cubs since Dawson.
  12. They got my hopes up with that Game 2 win, but still, getting this series to 6 or 7 would be great. I know a few here like to minimize the importance of experience, but the 10 or so (at least) playoff games that these guys have played will pay off down the line.
  13. No kidding. The league has to be praying for the Hawks-Wings matchup. It's not possible for me to comment on this without my own bias, but I would imagine that Conference Final would have some broad appeal. I'm not nearly as excited right now as I was this time on Tuesday, of course. But I know I will be by gametime. And I'm pre-gaming it at the bar, so I might be a little worked up tonight, no matter how things go. I said it the other day and it's still true. They have to come out from minute one with heads out of asses and get an early lead. Do that, get the crowd fully into it, and they can run these guys out of the building.

Thanks. I'm actually up there quite a bit. I think we look at QM last time I was there but couldn't get a tee time.
  15. So do I. I would love to see us kill him a few more times before he finally retires. If he ever does.

You sure can. Donovan is another of them. We went to Kellogg, Donovan and Madison. Haven't played Newman. My friend who lives there thinks it's the toughest, and since it was early in the season and we were both rusty we decided to keep it a little easier. Is the private course you are thinking of Weaver Ridge? Haven't been there, but I hear it's really nice. And not cheap.

Yikes. I went off last summer one Sunday at about 2:30, and I swear it was 98 degrees here without near the same humidity. I thought I was going to die. I ended up drinking about 100 oz. of Gatorade that afternoon. I got home and went straight to sleep until the next morning. Stupid. And yes, with that type of scramble, I would hope there is a tie for the win at -18. I played 18 three straight days late last month up in Peoria. Really nice and cheap park district courses to play up there. And, of course, I haven't been out since. Not even to the range. Golf is not cheap here and there aren't many practice ranges close to me.
  18. Yeah, Hawks are on Versus exclusively tonight. Which sucks in its own way, but that's for another thread. It would be nice if the Cubs would keep winning until I decide to follow them on a daily basis this season. So go Lilly!
  19. I figured it did depend on the injury. A shoulder injury like that just doesn't seem it would be that miserable. But hey, I'm not the one dealing with it.
  20. I'm rooting for the Bruins, but only because they are an Original Six team and I'm tired of places like Carolina, Anaheim and Tampa Bay winning Stanley Cups. That said, what an effort by Carolina.
  21. Really? What else is he going to do? He's getting paid a ridiculous amount of money, has already made millions, and all he is doing is rehabbing a shoulder injury that probably isn't even painful on a daily basis unless he's trying to throw a baseball. I'm not negative on the guy, but I don't admire him for doing what he's doing. He was actually smart and finished his schooling and has a degree in business from USC Yes, but clearly "rehabbing" is far more lucrative and less work than trying to make what he makes now in business. Yeah, it's pretty much a no brainer for him to choose rehab over selling insurance, especially in this job market. And it's obviously a much better option than coaching at a lower level. What's he going to be an assistant high school coach? Haha, right. Plus, though I'll admit I'm pretty ignorant on this, but what does it mean for him to be rehabbing? How much time does he really spend in the day doing anything but hanging out and watching television? Sure, you do your workouts and your strength exercises, but [expletive]. That beats a 9-to-5 every day of the week, especially for the ridiculous coin he is pulling in.
  22. My grandmother could have scored that goal. Crazy bounce off the boards. Just bad luck for Pens.
  23. I like that sig, but it hurts my eyes.

  25. those are fantastic They speak the truth. I'd love to see more of those done for other cities. I'm pretty sure you could just substitute St. Louis for Cleveland and it would still make sense.
