Just pray that he gets in foul trouble early. Calasan is physically stronger than Johnson, so Calasan would probably be the best option to put on him. That's what I'm thinking, but Calasan is a hacker, I don't have a good feeling about him stopping him. Will see though

A deal hasn't taken place because we don't have what the Padres want. That's not totally true...I don't think we have a great offer on the table, but we could put a deal together that the Padres would want.

Tyrese Rice is pretty good, I don't think the rest of the team is though. Probably the best test Purdue will have so far this year I'm thinking though.

I don't think he will ever become dominant but I think he can be a 15 point scorer and top assist player. His shooting seems to need work but Keaton Grant went from a crappy 3-pt shooter to one of the Big Ten's top ones. and then he'd be deron williams, who was dominant. Deron Williams never even averaged 15 points per game. i know. lewjack is a nice little player and is a good fit at purdue, but i don't think anyone should expect him to be able to get his shot off consistently. he could be top 3 in assists year in and out, though. I don't mean to disparage Lewjack, I think he could be a 6th man on a championship caliber team, but expecting much in the way of scoring from him is a big mistake. If Purdue is ever in the situation where Jackson is scoring 12 points per game, then Painter has failed as a recruiter. He'll be good at D, passing, and a great ball handler which we haven't had in 4 years. Scoring however I'd say he scores 12 on a hot shooting night. I see him in the 6-8pts a game range. Yeah, there's no way in hell he ever averages 15 points per game. Like you said, 6-8 is probably a fair range for him. I think he can be a solid point guard at this level though. He's damn fast and does a tremendous job distributing the ball. I could see him being high on the Big Ten's assists leaderboard once he becomes a regular starter (which may not be until the 2010-2011 season). He basically is going to be a shorter Kramer I think? That's what they said when I read recruiting stuff on him

They were picked to finish second in the West actually although for some reason they were the only West team to get a vote to win the MAC Tournament. Oh and Eastern played without their best player Carlos Medlock. Although he's a guard and Kramer would have shut him down. We also didn't play anyone for like the last 4min....

Another pretty dominant win against Easter Michigan who I read is supposed to win the MAC west. Next up Loyola?

Not sure why he would needs his credibility validated, but I can't really answer the question. I don't read his blog. I doubt he would just make that up, since he does have a decent sized following. I wouldn't expect Tim to make up a story anymore than I would Andy Dolan. But, if you go back and actually read what he wrote, he isn't the one saying a deal is done, but rather a source he spoke to. All Andy is saying is that things are getting very interesting. Don't read anymore into it than that, and you won't suffer heartache. K...guess will see

I'm skeptical about the rumor, but it does make sense. This would allow the Padres to fill three needs with one trade. I know Theriot takes a beating here on NSBB because he's not the most sexy athlete, but his numbers last year were impressive for a SS. Where did all the Theriot talks start from? I don't think I ever saw it Some source at Desipio is claiming that the deal is almost final and Theriot is part of the deal. I'm taking it with a big grain of salt, but if Riot goes to SD, does that make Cedeno our starting SS or do we heavily pursue Furcal? Or maybe we get Greene coming our way? I would be very happy with an off season of Furcal, Ibanez, and Peavy if all we give up are those 3
