  1. That may be so for the Marlins when those two were playing. I don't have statistics about this, but im pretty sure it's about 50/50 for the player doing better or doing worse.
  2. I pass on Woodson to expensive Plummer I don't know what his salary is looking like. If hes cheap he'd be a nice addition though.
  3. By the way though have we found out anymore info about this proposed deal or was it just on the radio station that one time.
  4. I think more distracted espically if they are a top baserunner in the league. No when there are men on past 1B I think thats when the pitcher and defense become more focused. I think the pitcher becomes to much focused on holding the runner on that it takes away from who he's pitching too. Thats why i wanted a legitamate leadoff hitter and I think Pierre is that even if he doesn't have an All-Star season.
  5. Lee 3 and ramierez 4. Lee has to bat 3 cause hes a better average hitter Aramis is the better RBI guy. Either way they'd be good, but I like Lee 3 and Aramis 4.
  6. Your point is taken, and I think you're dead wrong. I don't see anything wrong with saying Murton could be the Cubs best OF this season. We don't know how good he'll be, maybe he'll be the worst, but he could be the best. We don't know how good Pierre will be, but his track record gives us a pretty good idea. If he repeats 2005, it won't take much for Murton to be better. Production is production, no matter where it comes from. It doesn't matter if Pierre is one of the best leadoff men, if Murton outproduces him from the 2 spot, 7th spot or 8th spot, he'll be the better OF. Right now we don't know who is the best OF on the Cubs. I'd wait until after the season is well under way to claim it's impossible to rank one ahead of the other. They could all be similarly mediocre, or worse. Hopefully they all outproduce expectations. I agree with you that production is production and thats right. The problem I have is saying a Minor League player will out produce a Major leauge ready player who has had a pretty good career. Also with the fielding part i know hes not great, but he also was playin in Florida which isn't the easiest stadium to play CF. I understand Goonie that you disagree with me we'll see what happens you could be right if Pierre repeats last year that's all.
  7. I apologize Im just getting frustrated about this. My point is you cant say someone who has only played less than half a season in the pros is better than someone who is one of the best lead off hitter in baseball. I know Pierre had a bad year last year, but that doesnt mean a prospect is better than him. On the other hand I think Murton will pan out and be much better than Patterson I just dont think you can say something like that when he hasn't played enough to prove that.
  8. You guys are ridiculous if you think Murton is better. He hasnt even played half a season in the majors yet and you guys have him as our best OF. Come on I know hes talented, but wait and see Patterson didn't turn out!
  9. With what I just said no offense I just can't take scouts and other sports writers opinions until he plays a full season.
  10. Pierre is 10 times better than jones and Murton going into the season. Im sorry 50 games and hitting .300 doesn't make him better than a former All-star CF even though Pierre had a bad season. Im sorry unless I see Murton play the whole season and put up those same numbers he's the third best in my eyes going into the season.
  11. Oh no please tell me you don't think Murton is our best OF. Thats just ridiculous.
  12. I change my mind I didn't realize Carlos had such a bad year. Bay in Lf, Edmonds in Cf, and Pujols in RF. Hes to good not to put in the lineup.
  13. I was laughing at the Ty Cobb comment sorry.
  14. Plain and simple. Soriano and hairston in LF is better than Murton in LF and walker. We need the big power for number 5 hole. Jones is no where near Soriano in that position. Unless you kind find a better 5 hitter than Soriano for Murton I make that deal.
  15. Ha Ha  PEDRO IS NOT THE BEST PITCHER OF ALL TIME. Ill give you top 5 if you insist, but of all time no way. Probably the best of the 90's though.
  16. Aight I just thought I'd throw it out there. My friend mainly wanted me too. I still take Thomas over Giambi any day though on my team.
  17. compare Giambi and Thomas numbers. They are close, but Thomas has better numbers. Plus Giambi is Roided up so he doesn't deserve it. ha ha  you can obviously see I just dont like Giambi.
  18. Dude I dont think anyone is really aruging that Pedro was the best of the 90's, but you put him as the best pitcher of all time that is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong hes a great pitcher, but number one and even in the top 5 im not sure if he makes my list.
  19. I meant why was he number one of all time that makes no sense
  20. Thats debatable and even if he was the best of the 90's it doesn't mean hes on.e of the best pitchers of all time
  21. C: Barrett 1B: DLee 2B: Weeks 3B: Rolen SS: Lopez OF: Pujols OF: CLee OF: Edmonds SP: Carpenter,Zambrano,Oswalt,Mulder, Sheets RP: Izzi,Lidge,Dempster,Turnbrow Bench: Bay, Berkman, Freel, Griffey, Dunn, Rameriez
  22. WHAT? Why is Hank Aaron and Pedro Martinez in the top 5 of either list.
  23. K good! I hope that is true!
  24. Im worried he claims thats all that is wrong is he was sick at the begining of camp. Bores and Burnstein claim that he isn't healthy and might not start the begining of the season. Im really worried someone just please tell me what actually is going on.
  25. 2000 Frank Thomas who didnt win MVP, but lost in like the very end of the season to Roid Man Jason Giambi. Thomas wasn't an All-Star and even not winning MVP he actually had a better season the Giambi. My friend always bitches about it hes a Sox fan so he wanted me to post this. I actually agree with him though Thomas got robbed that year.
