  1. It was rude of me too, but I didnt want to get kicked around sorry for saying what I did.
  2. POST OF THE YEAR! Nice work, I completely agree with everything you typed! agree with both of you guys!
  3. just stop talking (writing, typing, whatever) Stop being a and listen to other peoples opinions whether they post statistics or revise there posts.
  4. oh im not positive about the season, but when we finally sign a big name guy who will probably help our team you have to be somewhat positive. You guys need to stop talking about Drew were not going to get him and just hope we continue to make some moves and get some pitchers.
  5. I just think you guys are way to negative about everything. Either way you guys would have been upset even if we had signed Drew or if Soriano plays up to his contract.
  6. Numbers wise you guys have made your point im not denying that, but It was my opinion and I think it was a very good signing.
  7. I dont try to revise every post I write I just state my opinion sorry.
  8. You guys are basing the begining of Drews career over Sorianos complete career. You cant compare them. On another note I tried to delete that post because it didnt make sense.
  9. OPS isn't a "random" stat. And it only takes about 15 seconds to look it up at any number of sites. By not using OPS you openly admit to not using the stat that best determines offensive production in a cursory manner. So, how do you judge a good player? I base it on watching players. Ive seen both and Soriano has been more productive. Drew hasnt played enough in his career to prove that he is better than Soriano.

By not using OPS you openly admit to not using the stat that best determines offensive production in a cursory manner. So, how do you judge a good player? Seeing the players play which Ive seen Soriano and Drew as well. Oh sorry Ive rarely seen Drew play cause hes been hurt about three quarters of his career
  11. I agree with you Willis I said im not completely happy with the contract. On the other han I prefer Soriano over Drew
  12. You should meet my friend, Mr. Facts. Hmmm, Mr. Facts shows that out of 8 seasons for Drew, 4 of them were seriously hampered due to injury and 2 others were less than 140 games. That's what is known in the real universe as a player with injury problems. Thanks Soul
  13. Im sorry that I dont use OPS or other random statistics to always support my case Im sorry I have a life and am not looking them up 24/7 to rip on someone who is just stating his opinion.
  14. We need pitching and we need one big bat. Just be happy about it you guys are always way to negative and never are happy about any of the signings.
  15. most you guys wanted him for his bat not his glove. If it was for his glove which isnt that great I wouldnt be apposed to it. Soriano is not that much worse in the outfield as drew though. Plus neither of them can play CF which we needed.
  16. He hasnt produced at all since the begining of his career, hes not a team player, and hes basically injury prone. I compeletly disagree with you guys.
  17. Drew isnt that good thats why and you guys highly overrate with him.
  18. maybe we over payed for Soriano, but hes a much better fit for us over Drew.
  19. because he was a .300 hitter in 2004 and 2005 and he had a finger injury in 2006 that made him suck. hes not great, but he's not terrible. in a perfect world it would be trade eyre and izturis for coco and sign lugo forgetting about soriano. We need pitching with the trade not some more offense. roberts would be nice and pitching instead of just stacking our line up we need to get a staff thats at least ok to look at.
  20. I'm just wondering what the infatuation with Crisp is? He doesn't hit for average, doesn't get on base all that often, has a low SLG%, and doesn't seem like he'd be all that beneficial to the team. I'd rather sign Roberts and trade Izturis and Eyre for a SP instead. Nicely stated that would be a nice signing and if that trade deal would work it would be nice.
  21. Pending a physical Soriano is a Cub. 8 years for 136 looks to be the maximum years/money. Rumors around that the last 2-3 years might be option years (no idea whose) and that approx 90 mil is guaranteed. Everybody who doesn't like the signing is negative and Jim Hendry just can't get the props he deserves. Everybody who does like the signing doesn't understand statistics or finances and needs 10 more years of school. I'm bitter and sarcastic (for the last few comments at least) what about those of us who don't like the terms but like the signing anyway? You don't exist. apparently I dont exsist!?

I love the signing, but the amount of year is a little exsessive!
  23. You think Westbrook and Hudson are on the same level. We need to be realistic why would they want itzturis or jones they dont need them at all they wont help out there team.
  24. yeah he was actually not a terrible starter either, but Manual used him the wrong way and hes now turned to being a setup man.
  25. I espically like this move if we deal either Eyre or Ohman along with hopefully Jaque and sign Soriano.
