There is no way that deal would ever go through. The Orioles are a bad team, but there not just going to throw Tejeda at us. You are giving them a at best 3 best outfielder for most teams, a short-stop who can hit to save his life, and a closer who sucked last season. Plus if we did get Tejeda hed bat 4th, Lee third, Rameriez 5th. Please stop with the Drew talks because if we get one of the two we wont be able to afford the other one.
I dont think there is any chance that deal would work. First off I think that we would need more to get Burrell and Rowand. Secondly I think that the sox would want more than just Rowand to give us Garcia even though they want Rowand. Lastly Marshall over Prior is a better idea Prior has no trade value and the last part would work, but I dont think the first two will work. Just my opinion.
are you kidding me? Think about that again please :D. I think players like Babe Ruth, Hank arron, and Barry Bonds come to mind to me better later in there careers.
Heard from where? Davhearn said it on the last page telling me that pujols, howard, etc. beg to differ about older players having pop. I think he was talking about how you "heard" that power hitters peak at age 32. Yes, that's what I was wondering, rjchapma. all im saying is there are alot of hitters in the league who are over 30 and have tremendous pop. You cant say someone is on the decline if they havent started declining yet. Like Derwood said just cause they are that old doesnt mean they are declining. also even if they are somewhat out of shape which Lee is not that bad. I mean hes still a pretty damn good runner. It doesnt mean they are on the decline.
davhern said the young guys beg to differ about the age thing and hitting for power. Ive also heard that good power hitters except freaks like pujols and howard hit there real top level around 32.
theres many guys over the age of 32 who are still hitting the crap out of the ball. heck DLee is a year younger and no one is saying he is on the decline.
So im not arguing that we need Carlos Lee, Murton is much cheaper I agree with that and we need other positions first, but I comepletly disagree with the comment that Murton is better the Lee. Until Lee actually declines, and Murton plays 8 seasons you cant tell me hes better. Plus you are basing your argument on one half of a season.
first off hes not on the decline. You guys need to get this into you head that you cant say someone who had only played one season is better than a good veteran player. I agree I think we need SP, and a CF over a better LF. On the other hand though someone making that statement because of second half statistics of one year is ridiculous.
how are you telling me that a player who has played one full season in the major leagues, is better than an all-star like 8 year veteran who hits 35 to 40 homeruns every year and 100 RBI's each year. I like Murton, but this is ridiculous. Just because he batted better the Carlos Lee after the all-star break doesnt make him better.
why would u be afraid of trading Murton for Westbrook and then getting Lee. You replace left with a better leftfielder and then get an arm for the rotation.
the person id least care about in that trade situation is Prior. He has little to no trade value. The person i would be more worried about getting rid of is Garcia is another legitamate starter for a team that has no pitching besides Z.
We need pitching more then we need either one of those guys. Id hope hendry would sign one of those three main guys, but I care about having a starting rotation over one extra bat in the lineup. honestly im not just getting roberts for centerfield and then two legitamate starters aka Jason Schmidt and Lilly
as for the drays they are way to greedy! Or just flat out dumb! My friends a Sox fan and some guy posted something on White Sox interactive about all the dumb moves there GM has made in like the past 5 years and they were pretty bad.
