    Yeah, and I'd take ARod at 5/50 million. Can you give Hendry any credit? I think the point was, if Boston was offering 2/5 to Kerry, couldn't we have just matched that. Because a low amount is a less risky contract. And if Kerry IS gonna come back, and get better. 2/5 is MUCH better than 1/4. Because You'll already have him locked up for next year for only 2.5. Whereas if he does great this year and you just paid him $4 mil. How much do you expect him to take next year? It's just another example of Hendry's bad spending and lack of long term plans. That was the point, I think.

    And then proceeded to still employ Jim Hendry. I'm glad he's gone. Hopefully, Hendry will soon follow. Let's see if the next guy can get the owner to open up their pocket book as much as John did last year. That is what I'm talking about. Ofcourse we can never directly compare because it will be 2 different owners.

    I'm sad he's leaving. I think he would have been good for the Cubs long term. I liked his passion, and how he plainly just came out and said, no more excuses, it's time to win. Goodbye and goodluck John.

    So why did I get an email from the score saying John Mcdunnough will be the new president for the blackhawks. Does this mean he can no longer be president of the chicago cubs?

    Kaz would be ok if it INDEED meant we are getting Fukudome. Derosa can be the supersub. We did not get the SB I wanted after Sori got injured. Kaz adds some more speed and SB when he plays. I would not mind at all a Kaz, Dero, and Theriot MI as long as it meant a Soriano, Pie, Fukudome OF.

    Those bashers re: Prior/Wood certainly don't exist here. Few things get flogged more than the ridiculous notion in the past couple years that we should release Prior/Wood so we can move on. There are floggers for everything Hendry does. Including releasing and not releasing prior.

    Furcal? Hendry wanted him or Pierre and wound up with one. Last season he said he would get Soriano and he did. If he wants Fukudome just as bad, I can only hope he would be able to get it done. I would guess. And this is just me guessing here. That since Hendry got rid of Jones, he either already has a handshake (or bow), or is extremely confident he has Fukudome pretty much signed at this point (per talks with him I suppose).
