    it's what bad bullpens will get you. I don't like saying this but. BINGO!! it's not "oh well baseball". It's having a few crap pitchers in your bullpen.

    yeah why do you take out silva after 6 innings when he easily could go 1 or even 2 more the way he was going. What is he on a pitch count or something?

    I believe that was Monday following the blown call of McLouth's "double play", yes? If you can give me the inning, I can hunt for the audio. crap ump call on top of the 6th with no outs, 2nd batter Byrd.

    You know, IF Silva has a decent year as a 4th/5th type starter, he wouldn't be the first to turn things around or "figure something out". Starting pitchers have done this under Rothschild before. AND, Marshall has been TERRIFIC in the pen. Why wouldn't someone want success from BOTH pitchers so not only does your pen improve, but the starting staff too?

    your effort is much appreciated. I watched the game so it was nice to hear the radio highlights. I should actually listen to the game since I record it then watch the recorded highlights on my DVR. LOL but thanks to this I don't have to.

    Well I agree. I know it's only been 2 games but the Cubs seem just way outclassed out there. I find myself hoping more than ever that the Cubs have a disastrous season so Ricketts finally grows a brain and fires Hendry. That really is the only way to make the Cubs future brighter. Better Drafting, Better Farm system, smarter spending (that last part requires firing hendry), will mean a much brighter future for the Cubs.

    I have the Cubs as anywhere from 1st to 3rd. I don't think they'll rank lower than 3rd, by the end of the season. I also think they won't rank above 1st.

    No. No, because I was already in the camp of "well let's just see what we can get out of this guy", with a bit of optimism. So I was already willing to give him a chance. And that's not changed. I will want him to continue pitching as long as he is doing well for a 4th/5th starter.

    Everyone was hating on Marquis until he proved to be a valuable 5th starter. If Silva can find his control and keep the ball down. Would it be so bad to have him in the rotation? If he can keep it up it would provide some much needed stability in the line-up. With only Z and Lily as the only other vets. I'd wish Silva the best, and if he can keep us in games I will root for him.

    cool to see colvin play can't wait to "listen" to how he does, lol. So where did you get the lineup? There was mention on cubs.com that castro might start the first game. Guess that plan was scratched.

    While that's a viable option as far as what to do with Lee, who then plays first base in 2011 [and beyond]? 1B is an easy position to fill with good offensive players.

    I'm a big Lee fan, but Lee, STFU. What a racist. Sounds like Lee is being the racist here. "If it were a white guy he wouldn't be called the anti bradely". I think the whole point is Byrd seems to be very positive and always in a good mood. And he IS going to be better than Bradely in #'s and in attitude (my opinion). It has NOTHING to do with race, and NEITHER did that comment. Derrek Lee, you need to see past the colors and stop seeing it as black and white. You racist.

    I'm fairly certain this was mostly a Crane Kenney move. Ricketts is still in charge and gets the final say. I'm sure he had something to do with the descision making.

    early in the morn more like midnight/morn wgn was reporting the cubs signed a new 25 year contract with mesa or whoever to stay in mesa and they will build a state of the art facility. I think that's the main thing ricketts wanted and he got it. Good descision on his part to be tuff but in the end do what the fans really wanted.

    Theriot apparently continues to believe the baseball game happens in the clubhouse rather than on the field. He can probably just shut up now. He got his wish, Bradley is gone. While I don't believe clubhouse chemistry plays a huge role in a teams success on the filed, I do believe there's a little truth to it. Too many players talk about it for there to be nothing to it. And if a majority of players believe in it then that there gives it some significance. Apparently there's something to the entire team being a bunch of wimps if they don't like one guy in the clubhouse and they allow it to effect their play. Just curious, how long have you played?
