    Dont jinx it!!!! Look what happened after you started the Marmol bandWGN... His record is 0-2 since then PUUleeze! :lol: BTW this isn't the DustyfiredbandWGN so it's not the same! It's just a chat. I swear!!!

    Getting Dusty out of here can't come soon enough. Some people say he'll be here the rest of the year, others that if this keeps up, by the trading deadline (me!!). The most important thing is that he is NOT HERE next year. But the sooner he is gone the more comfortable I'll feel. Even though the Cubs have no chance, it will mean he is finally gone. And no more worrying about whether he will be extended or not. It will also help to start knock some common sense into our players that will be here next year. Get them used to playing under someone with some common sense, and without the defeatist, credit giving to other teams, excuse making attitude. It will also mean having someone smart enough to know the RIGHT thing to do is to give Marmol, Marshall, and possibly Guzman or Hill all the starts they can get for the rest of the year. It means so many things, that's why I created this topic. What does it mean to you? Derreck Lee was right when he said they don't show up to play. That is because Dusty has rubbed off on them. Here's hoping he takes his inept coaching buddies with him.

    That's really the point. Sure, there's plenty of blame to go around. But it's pretty clear Baker looked at the injuries and just decided he can't win. He packed it in without really even trying this year. If that's all it takes to earn $4mil/yr, then someone show me where to sign up. Whiney Voice: YeAh BUt BaKER sIAd!! "I don't like losses, but I don't get beat down easily," Baker said. "If I was going to get beat down, I would've been beat down a long time ago. You can't beat me down. It won't happen.     is he telling us he's superman with that last one? i'm confused. Wow, am I glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read this, might have lost a laptop. Instantly my new favorite Baker quote. Maybe he's planning on becoming a Kwisatz Haderach? But hey, if Baker wants to drink the Water of Life, I won't stop him If it seems to be, the score thinks he meant "if I'm responsible for all THIS, then I'm a very powerful man". . But if THIS means how bad the Cubs are, then that's stupid. Because he IS responsible. So it's just as bad no matter what context you look at it in.

    I hit 11 HR and I think I hit the P about 8 or 9 times.

    Rookies don't have to be hitting .300/.350/.475 to contribute to the team. Good teams should be able to fit a less than spectaculiar young hitter or two into a lineup without a problem. The problem with the Cubs is their veterans aren't any good, so people expect the kids to make up the difference. That's not how it should work. That's fine, but nobody should be saying any of these guys are playing well because they're not. You could say say Marshall and Cedeno are doing ok for their first full season in the big leagues at best. It's hard to ignore the fact the perfomance of the young players has been a major contribution to the team record. I think that's all Baker was trying to say. Nothing Baker ever says is good, and he never deserves any credit or excuse on ANY minor thing he says. He's terrible, plain and simple. And he's earned all the heat and mocking he is getting.

    But you have to blow it up from the top or else all is moot. Baker and his staff HAVE to go at the very very least. What'd I say ??? He's just hoping hendry is reading this. :wink:

    Explain why he missed 2 months of baseball this year. Was that a "freak" incident? I don't care who has more upside, I'll take a stable above average dependable #3 pitcher than an unstable possible #1 (someday) because the first one will get off to a good start and be pitching for you when spring training ends. The other one will be whipping towels for you. Prior is a pitcher YOU wait for. When (not if) he is healthy, you are going to be glad you stay patient. Problem is Hendry and Dusty would continue to "WAIT" and then blame the fact that he didn't pitch all year as a reason they are loosing. Also Hendry will not go out and GET a #3 IF he keeps Prior. If we had a good GM I'd say fine keep him. But with Hendry, Keeping him means not getting someone else. You can understand that position, right?

    You know let Baker just go ahead and giving excuses like this. Since he's basically saying "the team I have now sucks". . I think the team feels this way too and based on how their playing, it looks like they've QUIT on him. This is VERY GOOD, and I LIKE IT!!

    doesn't really explain the worst offense in baseball, however. Let's see, Marshall Marmol (3 games) Guzman (1 game?) Ryu (not even 1 game) Can't think of any more. Not quite exactly 6 or 7 dustybag. And how many games did you give Rusch? You didn't use the Kids ENOUGH dumby!!

I've always laughed at Baker quotes before. But now he is just going waaaaay overboard. Ok Baker, yeah, uhuh. Sounds bitter doesn't he? Maybe he knows chicago hates him and he's on his way outta town. GOOD! Keep talking about it radio, papers, chicago. Keep talking about how baker SUCKS!! Make him HATE us.

    Don't worry, a few more weeks of this crap on the feild and baker will be gone. And trust me they'll still be playing below .500 baseball. If all goes well the move might be made along with the midseason trades during the trade deadline.

    We need to get Bynum and Rusch back as well before we can judge him. And we have to get Wood and Prior and Miller back. And not have any "kids" starting. Because there have been alot of "kids" starting. You have to remember that.
