  1. If we do trade him, I hope it's not to the Mets! [-( Can't stand them, and don't want to help them. On the other hand, if he's degressed a bit, he might hurt the Mets more than help them. Trade him to the Padres, Jim. Don't help out the Dodgers, Giants, or Mets! Or Yankees! Trade him for the best package. So what if he helps the Mets, Dodgers, Giants, whoever....help the Cubs please! Yeah, just don't trade him to the Cardinals or Sox!!
  2. Well a win is a win. Hopefully some retaliation tommorow on national TV!
  3. Hopefully an out so we can see that 9 out hit by pitch. And there it is. Plz hit Pojouls. He's a nice guy. But Larrussa needs to learn not to pull that ****.
  4. There ends my career as a predictor of outcomes. HAhahahahaha. Sorry that was funny.
  5. According to what Len just said I gather that Ronny got a pitch right near his face and Dusty must have come out and started yelling and yapping. I'll have to watch mlb.tv replay on that one!
  6. I think the only good thing you could say about the Dusty era is we've handled the cards pretty darn welll Too bad he wouldn't say the same things before the NON cardinals games. Whatever he says to 'em. We could have a great record!
  7. The Cubs should turn off the hot water in the visitor's showers for the rest of the weekend. That would interfere with Jim Edmonds' postgame rituals. Ooops. I dropped the soap. Cards players: Edmoooonds.
  8. We're out of the race. Time to throw at Pujols. Aw F it. Just throw it right at Larrusa's FACE!
  9. That's a big if. And a bad bet. I agree. But I don't mind seeing Pierre here next year granted we get 1 big bat and 2 starting pitchers. 1 being a #2.
  10. How about making a trade just to improve the team? Would be nice wouldn't it? Use guys like Maddux and Nevin who likely will not be here next year, and get just average to decent prospects. You get something for nothing and have extra trading chips. It takes two to trade. Wait til Tuesday for this angst. Will do. I just want to see something happen. It's really the only thing to look foward to right now. Just some kind of move. I'm sure he can get something halfway decent for maddux.

  12. Be the announcement of sticking with Dusty the rest of the year? Jebus Jim, get something done! I'm a human not a green blooded Vulcan, I don't live 300 years.
  13. He could be player of the game....RBI, run scored, and solid defense. This info makes TheGilesBros sad.
  14. Whew! Good thing Novoa or Rusch weren't sent packing. Yeah I know! I mean, Novoa and Rusch are WAAY more valuable to the team that Aardsma!!
  15. I want to mostly express congratuations for catching and putting some pressure on the sox. :)
  16. How many runs did Hill give up again? Ever heard of having a lead boosting the pitcher and giving him more confidence? A few runs could do wonders for Rich Hill. The Cubs haven't helped him much in that department with all this "do or die" talk, and not getting any run support, if abuck is correct. That's Rich Hill's problem! They aren't scoring runs for him! I thought it was the 15\11 BB\K ratio or the 5HR and 20 ER in 19 innings. Yeah, and my point is getting a few run lead to work with could help rich hill's confidence immensly. So I'm hoping the cubs score early. But this is the cubs, so rich hill will be traded for nothing to end up being a good pitcher for another organization. With a pitching coach and manager that know how to work with him, and maybe nurture him a little instead of blaming him and pressuring him for everything.

  18. I don't think it's the best thing he could do, but I'm resigned to the fact that he'll most likely do nothing. Pierre could fetch some prospects but I also wouldn't mind offering him arbitration and taking the draft pick. Bench players are always in demand and since we aren't going anywhere I think we could ship Walker and Nevin somewhere...maybe even Mabry too but I don't think he's too valuable. Blanco has also been pretty hot recently and backup C's are in demand right now. Maddux could fetch some decent prospects in return. There are plenty of moves that he could make to dump some salary and get younger while maintaining a similar talent level, but he probably won't. Hendry: "Ahh, I like where we are? Obviously, we have a solid core to work around. There are no need for any trades this summer". . I can imagine him saying that.
