    I thought you loved everything they do? So basically you just hate the memorabilia disposal stuff and like everything else? Sorry, my reflux is acting up real bad today. They draft and trade real well. Just the length of the rebuild, money situation, and stupid oversights like this ignited with my reflux like a flint.

    God how stupid are the Cubs. Same thing happened with Santo memorabilia didn't it? Jesus, pay someone for like 30 minutes to tear the damn thing apart before you dispose of it. Their ineptitude is on full display with stupid [expletive] like this and being childish about Sosa. What a [expletive] joke of an organization right now, [expletive].

    I would love to see Baez in the summer and a cup of coffee for Bryant at the end of the year. It all depends on how terribly he treats AA over the next couple of months.

    I would hope we could get more than a top 25 pitching prospect. And yes I would want that. I don't think it's crazy to think we could get another fringe top 100 pitching type like a Pierce Johnson. Then a couple very young lotto tickets. So in other words I'm expecting CJ Edwards + Pierce Johnson for Smardzija plus a couple decent throw ins.

    He struggled a bit out of the gate so I wasn't sure what to think of him. It sure would be nice if he dominates the rest of the way. It would be wonderful to add a guy like that to the farm. The Cubs could have 2 top 50 pitching prospects after the draft. That sure would be nice.

    If he continues to do this well, I won't hurt so bad when Aiken, Kolek, and Rodon are all off the board. He pitches in the Cape though doesn't he? Same league Mannea dominated? The top of the draft is quite fluid and each team is going to have different draft boards so there's no guarantee Aiken, Kolek and Rodon will be the first three drafted. Yes, Hoffman pitched and dominated in the Cape Cod League the last two offseasons, as did Manaea a couple of offseasons ago. The Cape is the premier college offseason league and numerous high college draft picks have played there, including our own Kris Bryant. Yes I understand all that. I just meant it's nice to have an apparent 4th option. It will be nice to feel as though there is not that much of a drop off from the 3rd to 4th pick. I'm just wanting there to be 4 really great players at the top of the draft, that way it won't matter who the Astros, Marlins, and Sox take.

    So that would probably rule out someone like Stroman? Who are some teams that have a couple of elite but young guys. Can someone brainstorm a possible package with guys like that?

    Dejesus is about the only guy I thought we lost value on. I mean if Baker could net Pinyero surely Dejesus should have been able to net and even more interesting A pitcher in return. But I generally agree they didn't miss out on much, trade wise. I guess you could point to Headley too.

    The one thing trade wise they've been outstanding with is acquiring young pitching. Black, Pinyero for guys you didn't think you'd get much value for.

    Yeah, last year I listened a lot and it was obnoxious. I don't think it's bad at all. Then again I hate You can put it on the booooarararararrrrrrd, YES! Guess I'm just a Cubs homer. But I really think I'd still hate that call even if it was for Cubs players or prospects.

    looks like a pretty decent estimate for right now. Neither Kolek or Aiken will make it to 4 at their current pace.
