    Yeah I don't get it. If not one of the top 3, I don't see why any team wouldn't be happy to have Gordon or Jackson. Both look like really good bats with that oh so sweet mystery elite upside.

    Notes I got: Yuck. Why spent a precious #4 pick on someone like that? I'm sure there are good bat free agents that can only play LF we could sign to a reasonable contract. You gotta spend the 4 pick on someone like Kolek, Rodon, Gordon, etc. .

    It's a big gamble for the Cubs to keep him after the deadline unless they are willing to pay market value for him. Maybe they should be. Otherwise you probably set back the clock to competitiveness at least another year, maybe 2. When you got 2 of your most exciting prospects coming up in 2015.

    Pentecost, Gordon or Nola. I am ok with any of these 3 guys. I refuse to believe that tweet that lumped Conforto and Gordon together. Gordon easy by far in that scenario.

    Was that in ST facility or something? Just curious where that happened, he's not in Iowa yet is he? It is kinda interesting having Manny sometimes hit in the line-up with Baez in it. I wonder if they will do something insane like add Manny to the team when Baez first comes up. I'm not even saying I want that, but it would be kinda fun just for the crazy media circus of it all.

    Why are people now putting Schwarber on their personal top list. Is it only because our FO is rumored in on him? Someone sell me on this guy. So he's a very very bad defender. It's kinda like getting a college Vogelbach or is he just that much better of a hitter? For me to be comfortable with him (on top of severe underslot) he just has to be an insanely good hitter. I mean like low KO and high BB guy with great bat speed, high contact rate, insane power, all that stuff. In other words, he has to be a waaaaay better hitter than Vogelbach. Is he?

    What really separates someone like Touki Toussaint from Aiken and Kolek? If we were going to go HS pitcher I'm in his camp. Whoever picks him in the teens is going to get an amazing player. Why not grab someone with his amazing upside if you are gonna try to underslot a little anyway?

    That's actually the best part imo I don't know I just like the drama. Selig is a big goof but the panel is filled with 2 meatheads but also a couple pinheads like Callis. So you see this back and forth of moron comments followed by some reasonable commentary.

    7 eastern on the mlb network PM? yes 6 central pre draft show (likely gonna talk about top talents one of which the cubs will take) and then actual draft 7 pm central.

    The world of draft scouting is trying to sour me on Kolek but I'd still want him at #4 if Jackson and the other 2 pitchers are taken. Theo has said you have to grow your own aces, well there's your chance with Kolek.

    In what world could you ever draft two such pitchers in one draft? Being "decent" in 2 years is a bad phrase. But a couple guys with high floors from college ranks. I'd rather draft one of those HS pitchers with high ceilings with our 2nd round pick. One of them is bound to be around.

    I don't see how Nola can't be a #2. I mean he's 94-95 and his numbers appear to be very impressive this year. If his pitches have some movement and he has good control he could be a Garza level pitcher couldn't he? I mean, what is it about Nola where people he's only got Travis Wood type ceiling?

    Nola would be ok with me. There are a few guys a bit more exciting than him but as always I'll trust the FO on this one. That know they gotta nail their 1st round pick and so far they have.
