Take away your disinterest in the Bears and I would say it's all about getting older, getting married and having kids. I stopped watching non-Bears primetime games a lonngggggggggg time ago. There's too much other stuff in life to be bothered by those things. I will on occasion throw them on, but that is about it. I do not think it is at all about over-the-top coverage of the NFL. That is very easy to avoid, if not completely ignore. I also gave up sports radio long ago but that is because it is stupid and pointless. It has nothing to do with being sick of football, it's just being sick of people who get paid to argue about sports. The fact that you also have lost interest in watching the Bears seems a bit different than my situation. I have definitely wandered away from the TV to do other stuff during the game, mostly pouring another drink or stirring/flipping whatever food I am making. But I still look forward to those games and have it front and center. Same here with a lot of this. Main thing for me was giving up fantasy sports a few years ago and how much football talk, whether on the radio or with friends, revolves around that. Or it seems to veer into college football, which I could not loathe more. Combine that with how frustrating the Bears are and how scumbag-y the NFL is in general and I have zero interest in watching it much.
