  1. They're so much more fun to watch without Hinrich. Though Mirtotic's stretch of growing pains makes me sad.
  2. Wilbon is a sloppy meatball on the best of days, but his rant over this idea was magnificently terrible.

  4. Baez becoming Hamels is basically the sole reason Baez exists right now. Though maybe he'll be saved if they actually raise the strikezone, so who knows.
  5. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p228/irish1289/hinske2jpg-f03353c5d3f359ca_large.jpg I always wanted this to be blasted over the PA system when he was running:
  6. Why is Michael Sam still unsigned? http://www.outsports.com/2015/2/8/8000303/michael-sam-nfl-teams-gay-roster
  7. These kids still [expletive] rule; who gives a [expletive] about stupid little league rules.
  8. This theory has been trounced so many times it's not even funny. What's "killed" them in the playoffs under Thibs is Rose being dead. I am curious, where has this been 'trounced'? I think having players that lead the league in minutes is going to lead to substantial wear and tear come playoff time. It's common sense unless I'm completely missing something. You are; the Bulls haven't been hit by those sorts of injuries come playoff time. Thibs' usage didn't break Rose, didn't give Noah plantar fasciitis and didn't make Deng refuse to get surgery on his wrist. Those are the key injuries they suffered in the playoffs, and the latter two were just matters of whether the player could play through the pain or not; no amount of rest or fewer minutes would have fixed them. It's a meatball excuse that's baffling because the real reason they haven't succeeded in the playoffs under Thibs is because their best player has missed some or all of them for three seasons in a row. Why glom on to something so dumb when the main reason is so glaringly obvious?
  9. Yeah, it wasn't a total wash. But I think we'd all be pretty disappointed if all we got out of all this hype was 3 playoff years, two of which were only tangentially connected to all these prospects. I would be fine with this group only bringing 3 playoff runs so long as the farm system didn't come to all but a screeching halt (but not a complete one, so shut up) afterwards.

  11. The convenient part is the "hey, there's a difference, so obviously there's no way they could possibly be considered comparable." Lots of differences. They were both the top farm system in the game. That's the important part, the rest is details. This is beyond dumb.

  13. Is there? A good chunk of that first class hinged on pitching prospects. Sure, that's a difference. If you look hard enough, you can always find differences. But in total quality, it was completely comparable. Well, that's a hilariously convenient way of looking at things. "If you ignore the ways they're different, they're practically the same!"
  14. Is there? A good chunk of that first class hinged on pitching prospects.
  15. Corey Patterson, Juan Cruz, Hee Seop Choi, Mark Prior. Did you miss the f pitchers part? And what am I missing with him continually bringing up Choi? Who was ranking Choi like David is talking about? Didn't he top out in the 20's? Higher than Soler, whom I think was being included in the current group. Yeah, he's the "should." I guess it works if you think Soler isn't going to be stay healthy.
  16. I may be crazy, but I'm pretty sure Rose wanted him back before the 2012-2013 season. Why he'd still be here is baffling.

  18. Same here. I held out a ton of hope for him.
  19. SILENCE. The current group blows that one out of the water.
  20. If Baez flames out he will be the biggest bust I can remember. Way bigger than Paterson. It will be a failure of epic proportions. I don't think he will be a bust in the formal definition like Vitters, I think he kick around the league for several years ala Ronny Cedeno. Patterson was the #2 prospect in all of baseball. And he actually had some success in the majors. Baez will be just like every other huge power/huge strikeout prospect that has ever existed. I didnt Patterson was ranked that high. Patterson was the great hope. Holy [expletive], I thought he was going to be amazing.
  21. Almora won't even get a chance to flame out; Baez is the new Patterson/Pie/Vitters.
  22. Agreed. I really like the guy and would hate to see him get the boot, but playing Hinrich that much almost singlehandedly makes moving on from him seem reasonable. I was convinced he'd see the light once guys were healthier, but this is so frustrating.
