  1. That's meatball talk. The guy didn't somehow choose to only play at 75%; he's just flat out sucked at times to varying degrees because he's been hurt. Odds are he's mostly been dealing with physical issues. Besides the knee stuff, he's dealt with a LOT more along those lines than Westbrook; his body simply doesn't work like he wants/needs it to. It's a dumb comparison because, again, it acts like both players are the same on every level.
  2. He doesn't trust himself/his body because it has failed repeatedly. He wasn't putting up consistently awesome numbers because, for the most part, he couldn't, not because he doesn't have the awe-inspiring mental strength of Westbrook.
  3. Do you think it might be...BOLD?!?
  4. [expletive], Aramis is amazing. Sadly, there's zero chance the Cubs have anything to do with him.

  6. No, not at all. I don't think Rose has Westbrook's mentality when it comes to trusting himself to recover from an injury. Rose sat out the playoffs two years ago and has been pacing himself all season. Those are things he is choosing to do. The injuries themselves were just freak accidents. If the injuries are freak accidents than what you do in your recovery doesn't mean anything thus mentality is irrelevant. No. When the doctors cleared Westbrook, he played. When the doctors cleared Rose, he sat out for 6 weeks and then the playoffs. I don't think Westbrook would have done that in Rose's shoes and I don't expect Rose to be back this season even if cleared to play. So, what, if Rose had come back like Westbrook he wouldn't have ended up injured again? You've trapped yourself in a weird little logic loop in your efforts to try and call him out for not playing as hard as you wanted. And you try to dismiss the injuries as freak accidents while criticizing Rose for "not trusting his body." You don't think this many injuries in short order would make someone wary about their body holding up? The guy has seemingly done everything he can to stay in peak physical shape and his body simply keeps failing. We have no idea what differences he and Westbrook felt physically when they started playing again.
  7. Think of it this way: you're THIS close to saying "well, Rose probably/likely/definitely wouldn't have gotten injured if he just had Westbrook's mentality."
  8. Or, y'know, he couldn't. It's just absurd from the start to assume they have to play with the same physical issues because at one point they suffered a similar injury.
  9. I don't expect Rose to be able to recover from injuries like Westbrook. Westbrook has a different mentality. This year for both players has proven that. I'm thinking they need to move on from Rose by any means necessary, but this is beyond dumb.
  10. The gay one.
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/gregg-zaun-says-physical-abuse-from-cal-ripken-jr--kept-him-in-line-071143606.html This sounds really weird.
  12. I voted for Edwards 'cuz he's gonna sexily help get us Hamels.
  13. That kid looks like he just has his entire world shattered by what he's staring at.
  14. Rend your heart, my child; not your garment.
  15. They looked pretty damn good before the break. But you were oh so quiet. Weird. ... So was I, but I had a cool reason.
  16. Getting trounced for #1 was bad enough, but now Soler is trailing for the #2 spot?!? You're all shaved apes.
  17. This is a [expletive] travesty.
  18. http://instagram.com/p/y5EAG_QRLP/?modal=true This one? He's Adam Sandler in Airheads.
  19. Nah. I just let the smilin' do the talking: *Swoon*
  20. Holy [expletive]; way to keep it extra spicy, Bears.
  21. Soler, without a doubt.
  22. After PNC I still love going to Camden Yards.
  23. PNC is [expletive] amazing.
  24. There's nothing wrong with trading prospects while they might still turn out good. In fact, that would be what would make other teams want them. You're aware you are getting something in return, right? Look, everyone knows the right time to trade a prospect is after only the team that has them is able to evaluate them at the higher levels and then can trade the ones who look like busts because other teams aren't allowed to look.
