it's very much worth considering if we somehow overperformed and weren't sellers either of the three years 2012: no Kyle Hendricks* 2013: no Neil Ramirez, Justin Grimm, CJ Edwards, Arrieta, Strop 2014: no Addison Russell, Billy McKinney *this one would probably bother just me though yeah, retroactively wiping out either of those last two deadline hauls is way too deleterious for me to accept One would hope that the FO would have had the ability to construct competitive teams and actually draft well (and work the IFA market) without tanking for higher picks and fire sale trades.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck...was all set to head up to Pittsburgh to catch this but ended up getting out of work an hour later than would have allowed me to make it MAYBE to see Russell's first AB. -

Reminded me of Harden's debut in 2008 I was at that game and them winning it was [expletive] amazing so you can both kiss my grits. i mean i'm sure it was fun to win after theriot almost gave it way in the 9th with that incredibly bad throw but they still blew like a 7 run lead with two innings (??) to go But then it ended awesomely so cram it in your RAMhole.

I hope so. That said, he shouldn't wear that stupid face mask. There's no way it doesn't cause at least a minor distraction. I always thought the same thing with Aramis; I don't know how that thing doesn't throw their hitting off.

Despite the annoying 9th, it's great having a team that's just fun to watch again. There's offensive approach is great, and Bryant looked fantastic. Can't wait until Russell's up to join in.

Plus bemoaning things for being cruel and then pointing to FJM and older Deadspin as something different seems pretty...faulty. Maybe your tastes have simply changed, because those sites from day one tore into people. Saying they were just the right amount of mean seems like a pretty tenuous thing to long for when odds are if FJM was still going you'd probably just now think was too cruel, too because your sense of humor has changed.

But seriously, to me that rings about as true people who bemoan negative news stories like they think the world has never been more evil or worse off or who knows what. So some sites that used to be more funny changed their tone or their focus; so what? Staffs change, focuses change with outlets like that...the scope of sites available out there has never been more huge or more varied. Finding writing that's "just" funny isn't something that's harder to do now than any point in the past; it's the exact opposite. Just because FJM stopped years ago or Deadspin shifted it's content output doesn't mean there's now mean that the internet's humor quotient or whatever has simply decreased without anything to different to come along to fill that role.
