Like I said, I don't want to come across like a Noah superfan; his injuries have clearly caught up to him and he's not any kind of a long term answer (I seriously doubt anyone is thinking he'll still be here after his deal is up). That said, even as his offensive abilities have noticeably diminished, he's still out there playing as a valuable defensive asset, so he hasn't fallen off the cliff so many seem to think he has. The main change has been that he can't dunk like he used to and he's inexplicably forgotten how to tip in/lay up a ball sometimes. He is still, however, a plus player out there far more often than not.

Hell, looking at the stats, what really killed the Bulls last night was how completely terrible the bench was last night. Hinrich, Mirotic, Snell and Brooks were all brutally bad, and Mirotic and Hinrich had to see WAY too much time because of foul trouble across the board.

I'm really not trying to be some kind of Noah superfan, but I am baffled by how often people here react like he had a nightmare game, figured I blocked out how bad he was the night before and then go and look at the stats and see that nothing of the kind happened. Meanwhile you have people pining for Mirotic, who HAS been garbage except for, like, one game (holy God, he was horrendous last night) and Taj like they're producing so much more. They're not. Taj and Noah are basically neck and neck in terms of productive floor time and Mirotic has been the blurst.

Or Butler hits that 3 or the Bulls grab that rebound and the outcome is different. This has nothing to do with LeBron feeling like taking a game by the horns or whatever the [expletive] and has everything to do with the Cavs pulling out two close games. Yeah, the ridiculous narratives people convince themselves are, well, ridiculous. Do people need him to be a villain so badly that they need to make up nonsense things like "he didn't feel like playing in a playoff game oh now he feels like playing?"

If Gasol can come back and be any kind of a factor I think this definitely goes to 7 games. I'm still flabbergasted over the call against Taj tonight. What the hell is the point of video review if they're going to ignore something obvious?

The weird thing about DeAndre Jordan is that he DID get better at shooting from the line. His first two season he was a little worse than he is now, but then stepped up as a .452 shooter in '10-'11 and then up to .525 the next season.

Aren't there a lot of moving pieces going into 17 minutes over 4 games such to make that number damn near worthless? Oh, no doubt. That's an incredibly sample size (over the course of a small sample size of four games) with a lot of mitigating factors there. That said, it does feed two into two popular thinking that seem reasonable: Gibson is playing far better than Noah right now and Mirotić does wonders to space the floor when he's in at the 4. What is the best site to get +/- info? I want to see how all the big combos have fared in +/- this postseason. I feel like any combo with Mirotic is going to be a +. There is also a basketball-reference.com that is very handy.

Well, that's certainly not the case: Noah played 37 minutes last game and Taj played almost 34. Noah ended up with 15 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block and 8 points for a +4 Taj ended up with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 6 points for a -1. What about game 2? Both players played just under or over 22 minutes. Noah had 11 rebounds, 3 blocks and 4 points for a -2. Taj had 9 rebounds, 1 block and 9 points for a 0. They were both terrible in game 2, with Noah ending up at -11 and Taj at -15 (Noah played just shy of 30 minutes and Taj only 20). In game 1 Noah was a +13 and Taj was a -13. (Both played just over 28 minutes)

Yeah, it's not like it's only a small amount of posts are made on the fly without quoting; it sure seems like most are actually made responding to the general topic or direction of the thread instead of being a direct reply to any one post. Plus it's not like we'd be losing the option to do the latter the same as before.

Dude always has hit a lot of grounders. Granted, for a while he was hitting almost nothing but grounders, but if people are going to be let down every time he hits it on the ground...prepare to be disappointed a LOT.
