The 2011 team won 7 straight. Jesus. That's basically the cruelest teasing possible given what was to come. -
The complete and utter lack of effort once things started going downhill in that game didn't make that clear to you? Because that was exactly what that looked like to me. And I think this is the single biggest reason why it went bad. No, I don't think the players suddenly gave up on the coach and the season halfway through the second quarter in a tied playoff elimination game just because they didn't like his offensive approach. Don't confuse failing with lack of effort. I think they failed because as talented as they are, these are players who often need to be coached offensively to maximize what they can do and Thibs simply isn't the best option for that. The Bulls don't have a star player who can just take charge out there and direct things. They can win with the core they have, but a defensive-focused coach isn't going to get what they need from the offense.

And ultimately I am ready to move on from Thibs; I think most of reasoning for getting rid of him is the epitome of meatball slobbering, but the strength of the core the Bulls should be focusing on is their offensive ability, and Thibs is ultimately just too limited in that regard.

It sounds like he has more value as an expiring now than as a player, which is pretty sad from where he was just a year ago. They have to be open to anything, but Taj for a big wing piece and hoping Noah isn't actually done may be the way to go. Start drafting them bugs though. I think the latter makes the most sense; despite his issues scoring, Noah's still pretty valuable defensively. It's not like they have to rely on him for their offensive schemes, so it shouldn't be a lost cause if they have to ride out his deal.

I think Taj is the much more valuable trade chip. As much as I like the guy, he's going to cost too much to bring back and he's about to turn 30 himself. It's that I wouldn't mind moving Noah, but between his breaking down body and his offensive slide this year I don't think he's going to bring much back as a main piece.

So deal with, like, 3 pitchers. Not sure what screaming at the entire team is supposed to do. i'm also not sure what is accomplished by screaming at a few relievers who already know they pitched like garbage. Who was the poster screaming for code reds one year?
