  1. Personally, the public transportation setup doesn't really bug me unless the weather is horrible; it all comes down to the expectations of it being a stadium in a major city as opposed to the typical stadium that's cast off in some kind of wasteland. It is, however, much better than it used to be and far from being a disaster; more just a pain in the ass sometimes.
  2. It is indeed pure garbage time there. I'm convinced that more people aren't fed up with it just because before the makeover it was actually infinitely worse across the board.
  3. Well that seems a tad problematic given the team's bullpen issues.
  4. Let's assume that trend line continues. How is four months of decent RF production worth five years of cost control on a high pedigree/value starting pitcher? Depends on if they extend Heyward and what the numbers are. Miller's a solid pitcher, but he's got some warning flags between his LOB%, the gulf between his ERA and FIP and that low BABIP. He's arguably over-performing almost as much as Heyward is under-performing.
  5. Yeah, I don't know why they'd want to keep him up there while he's struggling. Let him work through it lower down in the lineup.
  6. Why are so many of the meatballs here down on Wada? I thought he was decent before he got hurt.
  7. What the hell, man.
  8. http://deadspin.com/pedro-alvarez-wallops-home-run-out-of-pnc-park-into-mo-1705701917 MONSTER DONG.
  9. But he's not just taking up space on the court, as was made abundantly clear just a wee bit above your post. Fortunately teams don't dictate their trades based on what one guy incorrectly said on a Cubs message board.
  10. Man, I was trying to find a gif of that the other day and none of my searches were working. Well done.
  11. Whut.
  12. Which there clearly is between Russell and Castro. Baez is a better SS too, but Russell is clearly the best of the three. A few errors made playing out of position don't change that - it's like saying Mirotic sucks based on what he did when Thibs had him playing SF. There clearly is a vast difference? Those are strong words you're using. And he dismisses Russell's errors as just being because he's out of position...so does he think Russell's SS defense is so much better that it would offset all of the errors Castro would then be making since he's apparently so much worse AND would be playing out of position?
  13. It's flat-out bizarre how many Cubs fans seem to buy the "Castro is a terrible SS" narrative. The only way he gets moved off of SS is if he's traded or if Baez or Russell are drastically better...and they're not. Established players are not moved for rookies because of negligible defensive differences.
  14. i think he needs to be moved off of SS for a better athlete There's not nearly the difference in their defensive abilities that you think there is.
  15. Nobody would have a problem with him hitting further down in the lineup. You're the one extrapolating that to "he's not hitting well, so he needs to be moved off of SS because they can't find room for Baez otherwise" which is right up there with that guy who thought Darwin Barney was somehow blocking David DeJesus.
  16. Plus it seems like plenty of people have talked about both Baez and (especially) Russell as being likely to bulk up as they get older.
  17. People with well-kept bowlcuts and mullets probably tell themselves that, too.
  18. The difference between them is likely negligible enough that it's nowhere near the problem you desperately want it to be. Castro isn't playing even remotely close to being bad enough that he needs to be moved off of SS. And, again, if someone has to go to 3B, wouldn't you want it to be the guy who probably has the better arm? You need a stronger arm for SS than 3B Depends on the play.
  19. You're determined to see Castro as a horrible player, but he's established himself at SS just fine for years, and players like that typically don't get bumped unless the replacement is a God-mode-level improvement or they get traded. You're pining for something that doesn't typically happen and doesn't need to happen for these players, and the team, to succeed.
  21. Because Castro's probably better at SS than 3B and they're trying to get Russell comfortable at 2B. Baez seemingly has a stronger arm, so why can't he play 3B?
  22. Counterpoint: it's a style that always looks hideous. It's right up there with bowlcuts and mullets.
